Girls, I will give the correct answer this evening. Maybe
somebody else wants to try it.
But remeber this test was made for Americans. Probably mostly
monolinguals.

Interesting, Nikola. My reasoning was that of the two words
"gagol" and "suro" one must mean "table" and one must be a
preposition.
And perhaps it's "(The) table (is) under (the) cup", because you
don't necessarily have to say that a cup is on a table, do you?
I mean, yes, you do in English, of course, but it's possible to
imagine it the other way around, isn't it?
Then "suro" might mean "under", and in that case "tito huang
suro gagul" would mean "(the) bird (is) under (the) table".

Oh, I see what you did there. That would make sense, too.

And the winner of the DLAB puzzle is.....Nikola (clap your
hands)
Quote from the book
« 54. D In this picture, we see a bird under a table. Looking at
Picture Group 2, we see a picture of a cup on a table. Since
“dengez hualo” means multiple yellow cups, we can assume that
the “deng hualo” means single yellow cup. So by removing “deng
hualo” from the sentence, we can conclude that “gagul suro”
means “on table.” However, the picture is of a bird UNDER the
table. Furthermore, we can’t just assume that “tito huang” means
bird. It could be a specific bird and the bird in the picture is
a different bird. So since we can’t really use the “tito huang”
as a concrete clue, we must look at our options. As it stands,
“gagul” or “suro” could mean table. So looking at the options we
notice that “gagul” is in all of them and “suro” is in all but
D. Therefore, we can assume that “gagul” means table, and the
new word “duro” that has replaced “suro” probably means “under.”
Therefore, option “D” is the most probable answer. »
