How not to behave in Family Law Court

Well, I`ve not seen anything like this, but it just goes to show
you there`s not much fun in Family Law Court.

Good question. I think all she got was the 10 days for contempt.
They could have charged her with something extra later on, but
who knows?
My experience with Judges is that they act pretty much like
this. Pretty cool-headed almost always.

This one is a bit more explosive and involved a former medical
doctor convicted of multiple sex crimes. There`s a wikipedia
article on him, but this took place during victim impact
statements for sentencing. This was one mad father, I`m sure of
a victim.
I think the lady talking at the end is the Deputy District
Attorney.

The cameraman wasn't used to movement in the frame :-)

I used to work as an Adult Protective Services social worker for
my county and the rest of my social worker colleagues were Child
Protective Service workers. One of the cases was a girl in
state custody because of a mother who had severe temper problems
and her blow ups caused a lot of stress for my colleagues. When
the day came for a hearing in front of the judge and the workers
recommended the child not be returned to her, the mother started
to lose it and apparently the daughter was the one who made
numerous attempts (like a parent) to get the mother to calm
down. The workers let it go on to allow the judge to see the
mother´s behavior. Ultimately, the mother punched the judge.
The judge, whose name rhymed with ¨nice¨, was forever after
nicknamed ¨Judge Nice¨ partly because he did not even sentence
the mother to contempt of court, inspite of being punched
(although not seriously wounded). Granted the mom had a mental
health diagnosis, but I really thought that was too permissive.
We all really liked ¨Judge Nice¨ though, who did such things as
personally buying Christmas presents for every foster child in
the county.

Wow, Susan. How can someone punch a Judge and not get a
contempt? If that´s not contempt, I surely can`t imagine what
is, not to mention a number of other charges that could have
been brought. I`ve seen nice Judges, but never that nice.

I didn`t know „yall`s jail“ was English, but this Judge is at
least a decent human being. Probably one of the most decent I`ve
ever seen. I love how she asks if they are in the twilight zone.

Why those people are so stupid? Do they really think they would
be quick enough to do any harm to the target? Even if they are
they would prosecuted. Why they can't be patient and don't show
any sign of outrage and remain calm? And when the target served
its sentence. Follow it, study it, think through all import
detail, find good place and time, make sure you don't leave any
indication for police, and then get your sweet vengeance.

@Pasha
My thoughts exactly. The guy asking for 5 minutes - seriously?
Like, really? What is this? Some kind of bragging "look at how
hard I want to get this bastard"? Please.
