I already answered your assertion that it is just "a few
buildings", with quotes from the article - it is a huge problem.
The buildings in Havana are in the same state as their 1950's
era car fleet - crumbling.
I answered your assertion that they are victims of not being
able to trade with the US as poppycock. They were free to trade
with anyone else in the world. And yet they needed propping up
by the Soviets to survive. Now you are asking for US aid.
Read the previous entry and find the questions you are so
obviously trying to ignore. The truth is the except for raising
literacy rates and medical care Cuba is the epitome of a third
world sh*thole. Another failed communist state.

I thought I was the guy who liked to build up the strawmen and
beat the sh*t out of them. Listen to you.
So Cuba is not super-rich because of what? Look at all the other
neighboring Caribbean countries that are capitalist and even
worse off (Haiti comes to mind). Gosh, and the list probably
goes on and on. Mexico is not exactly rolling in the dough
either. Geez. Or El Salvador? Boy, that`s a delightful place. I
heard you can`t even safely leave the airport in San Salvador
without fear of being shot and/or robbed. That whole area has
problems, and you want to prove something because of a few old
buildings in need of repair in Havana? I don`t see the
connection with that and their economic system.
So, I guess if Cuba just let a few WalMarts pop up everything
would be wonderful?

This is defamatory what you are saying about Cuba. A few little
buildings in need of a little repair and you are making a whole
economic philosophy out it this. That´s amazing.
Look at all the slums in the US, look at Detroit! That place is
a disaster zone.

Cuban and Venezuelan leaders always blame the U.S. Maduro is
constantly doing the same thing. Interestingly, none of my
Venezuelan teachers buy it. I am sure the sanctions are part of
it, but few of the people in Venezuela see the sanctions as the
main reason, so I doubt Cubans are much different. I read
yesterday that Venezuela is now paying its pensioners in the
cryptocurrency, which almost no stores in Venezuela accept. I
do not think it will be long before we could easily find Maduro
blaming the pensioners´ inability to buy food on the U.S. as
well.

The collapse of the USSR was due to a complex set of events
happenening around the time. Trump says the war in Afghanistan
bankrupted them. But a lot of factors came into play. I don`t
see Reagan having had anything to do with it.
