China moving towards the worst of government surveillance

Lots of news coming out of China about new crackdowns on the
populace and freedom. The new social scores are already up and
running, people are already being told they cannot travel
because they are politically unreliable. Here is a new article,
even your home is not safe. Notice the Orwellian titles of the
programs

It should upset everyone, but especially anyone religious.

What I'm wondering is how can they 'crack down' even more? They
have no freedom as it is. That is unless you're italki { sorry,
Gryz } or Alibaba and you can connect to the civilized world
with your web connection.

Read the article Jerry, it is incredible. They now have
friendly government bureaucrats who live in the homes of
religious minorities. They call it the "Pair Up and Become
Family" program.

You are right Alharacas, I was just referring to the tendency of
religious people to think that can only happen to the 'other'
religious group. If they can do it to Moslems, or Buddhists, or
Jews or whoever then it can be done to any religious group. And
eventually to anyone who doesn't think in a proscribed manner.
We thought it was bad enough when the Cold War communists were
encouraging children to report on their parents, now you can get
a party member living in your house.
After we get over the sex robot thing look for Governments or
Corporations getting cheap or free robots into your house to
help you with your daily chores. Why wouldn't you want one?
Hell I bet I can get one to cook me Italian. And report the
books and articles I read to the Government.

It is really scaring. On one side, they do as they were open to
the world, on the other they are back to the methods used by
“comrade” Mao who sent intellectuals, dissidents and anybody who
didn’t keep in line to working camps in the countryside.
Shang’hai seems a moderns city like any other but behind there
is a terrible repression. No wonder many Chinese emigrate. Where
I live there are many recent newcomers. I just wonder how they
got working permits to open their restaurants. The funny thing
is that they are a bit on the racist side. They usually tell
that they didn’t go to Geneva because there are to many
foreigners there especially of African origin.

We were seeing progress in China but this new guy has built a
cult of personality around himself and is really turning the
screws on individual liberty. It is very alarming.
