Do you want a relationship but you hate people?
Your problems are over with Japanese AI-powered companion dolls!

Why? Because such girls don't argue, don't have any opinions
(unless programmed to have them) and they'll laugh at stupid
jokes they'd heard before. Some people would see that as a
perfect girlfriend.
But it is quite creepy and it reminds me of the movie Ex
Machina. Has anyone seen it?

First of all, Nikola, I’d like to add it’s not only about girls.
They have male versions too (in case anyone it’s interested).
I see what you’re saying… but… ah… I give up.
Isn’t there a meteor scheduled to hit Earth or something?
Anyway, for those who can’t stand interaction (even it’s dumb
interaction), you can have just dolls (instead of androids)

I've never seen the movie but I've loved the term Deus Ex
Machina ever since I first encountered it reading Greek plays
years ago.

If you've watched Ex Machina I would recommend you to watch
Uncanny (2015) . Very similar movie but its about male robot
version.

@Dr Lecter
The second story is cute in a worrying kind of way.
@Truman
I'm a big fan of the concept myself. It's like a child telling a
story, suddenly getting stuck or bored and wanting to finish it
quickly so either everyone dies or God fixes it.
When I worked as a teaching assistant, an autistic boy came up
to me and went "There once was an old barnacle. He was so ugly
that everybody died. The end."

By the way, I saw Truman’s comment and I totally forgot to
mention I heard about the film, but never watched it. I am
taking note of Pasha’s suggestion too.
However, I used the word “Chobits” for the topic because of a
manga/anime with this name that’s exactly about it (Chizuko, are
you reading this? Help me out here!)
@Nikola
I actually read about the silicone dolls a while ago, so I just
sent you the first link I found today, but I didn’t read it this
time.
I am not sure if it’s the exact same story I read in the past,
but if it is, I really don’t think it’s cute.
The guy, unhappy with his marriage, bought the sex doll,
bringing discomfort to his wife and daughter. At one point, he
was made to choose and he left his family to live in a cheap,
crammed, micro apartment with the freaking object.
