Donald or Angela? How populist are you?
By: Aliph Date: November 26, 2018, 4:23 pm

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, one of four
Europeans ( in the EU) votes for a populist party.
How populist are you? You can take a test to mesure it. No
guarantee that it is scientific.
However any test that is able to discriminate between two
different groups X and Y can have a scientific value.

Very slightly populist, less than Salvini/Orban right.

I`m a notch left of Pablo Inglesias. I think I would have been a
bit more to the left but I messed up on one of the questions.

Apparently I'm most like Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the
president of Mexico - kind of in the middle of the upper left
quadrant. Which I find rather confusing, considering that I
chose "neither approve nor disapprove" for what felt like most
of the questions.
What about your own results, Sofia?

I wasn`t sure what the upper and lower quadrants meant. The
right ones are bad, the left good, but what about the top and
bottom ones?

First time I took the test I was almost close to Barack Obama,
funny since the test went with an article about the situation in
the UE.
Before posting the link here I took the test a second time and
it was more “scientific” explaining the methodology, the aim (I
forgot) etc. there was a story about a slogan on a T-shirt. Well
my score wasn’t linked anymore to a political person. I don’t
remember the score, it was rather on the center.
With Obama I share two or three things: family ethics and the
desire for a real, equal health insurance for everybody. Some of
my middle aged friends think that he is handsome.

If I remember correctly, there was right and left. The two upper
quadrant were populists (I.e. Sanders is considered a left
populist). The lower left quadrant with Obama and Macron
(president of France) are considered non populist left.
Well Macron is having a hard time these days. There is a big
mouvement against the increase of the price of gasoline. The
French are always bragging about something. Most of the time
they are on strike.

The nearer the bottom, the less populist.

I came out just barely above the midline (barely populist) and
just a little left of the midline. It shows me nearest to
Barack Obama (although he is a little below the midline,
non-populist.

Well, like I said I was in the far left and lower part of the
bottom quadrant.
