I`m not a board game player myself. I always thought almost all,
other than chess, were just for children. So, I grew out of
them, but later got to know adults who liked them.It always
amazing me that grown younger people, in their 30s, would play
games like Risk or others, the names of which I forget. They
tend to bore me for some reason. I`d rather watch something on
YouTube (like a documentary) or movie. Or read a book. Chess
stands out as an exception as a real adult board game.
I don`t like American sports either. American „football“ , which
should really be called „handball“ instead, bore me, as does
baseball , and basketball bore me just as much. I totally
ignore them. When people ask me about the teams or scores, I
just say I don’t know who the teams are and am just not into it.
Sorry. So I pay no attention to any American field games.
Funny, like John Cleese, once said, the Americans don’t like
playing other countries in games, and that they have competition
in games like baseball, all just different American teams
competing against each other, and when one comes out on top,
they call it the „world series.“ Funny, it`s the worlds series
but they never ask Belgium to participate.

Sofia, I'm sorry, I should have said - the guy is not a
politician, he appears in a famous scene in the movie "How I
       Unleashed World War II":

A German transcription would look more or less like this:
       /grschegorsch brschöntschüshtschükjewitsch/, but the /ön/ is
nasal like the "ean" in French "Jean", and also, the Polish "cz"
is a soft /tsch/ (with the /sch/-sound as in French "mange"),
while "sz" is a sharp /sch/ (which is why I wrote it as "sh").
       [/quote]
Oh Alharacas, that’s cute. Thank you so much for the
transliteration to German. I think I got the Gregor but I have
to train a bit more for the family name. If you master those
tong twisters in Polish, Turkish and Farsi must just be easy!

Try a game like "Apples to Apples", "Settlers of Catan", or
"Ticket to Ride". You will find it more fun than Parchesii for
       sure :-)

22 million copies in 30 languages. More proof that your
       opinions are mostly ill informed.

Neal, I`ve played Settlors of Catan with some mid-30s guys (all
of whom had the mentality of 18 year olds) and all I can say is
       BORING, BORING, BORING.

Neal, why are you sounding like a broken record?
All I can say I wouldn’t mind being one of the minds behind
Settlors of Catan. I`d be on easy street now.

And what is “the Ticket to ride?” There was one where you build
this railroad thing across the US, so it`s a US game. It was
always not a big thrill for me either. Maybe I´m thinking of
       something else.

Ticket to Ride has other versions, especially of the maps, for
other countries. There is a German version with an early 20th
Century map and another one called "Marklin" that features
German locomotives made popular by the German toy manufacturer
Marklin. Sort of like Lionel in the US.
The game is called Zug um Zug in Germany.
