I know that you are fairly mature and serious people - or at
least some of you are - and that you probably are not in a habit
of talking to trolls or spammers, but this guy did the job for

The idea on that forum is to engage the scammers and waste their
time. More time wasted meant less time to hustle victims.
It is amazing the tactics they use and the stories they spin to
waste the scammers time. Members have created websites that
track fake packages full of money, all sorts of fake contract or
image downloads, and tons of paperwork/ busy work to occupy the
scammers time. They also have contacts with various African
police services, shutting down scammer bank accounts really
hurts them.
419 eater has a "trophy room" where members get scammers to hold
signs or dress comically and send in the picture. In the end
the scammers will do anything if they think they will get the
money. The most advanced type of trophy is a "Safari". That is
when by emails and or phone calls you actually get the scammer
to meet you or pick up the money somewhere in Africa besides his
home base. Of course if he goes to town A by the time he gets
there the money has gone to B and etc... The idea is to get
them moving for as long and as far as possible or to some
African country that is in the midst of a revolution.
Some of the Safari stories (emails exchanges mostly) are
incredibly elaborate and go on for dozens of pages. Some have
ended very badly for the scammer - arrest, impoverishment, loss
of respect in their subculture, all sorts of things.

God, this sounds like an ideal job for me. But I guess this is
done only as a hobby. I'm totally out of luck.
