Vietnam has always been smarter than China

China has google working on a special version of the google
search engine, so they can censor what they want. The people
think they are getting real google, but it is a facade.
The Vietnamese cut the process down to bare essentials. Let
people do what they want online. Then make sure the social
media data collected is stored in Vietnam so the government can
tap directly into your online searches and comments.
Interesting article:

It is very interesting that Google, the "Do no harm" company,
has no problem with creating censored search for China, even
testifying to US government oversight about the "broad benefits"
of censored search. Terrifying enough:

But what Google and Facebook are really upset about is Vietnam
forcing them to store the data they collect on us anywhere else
but at company headquarters.
Combine the above with what I have been reading about Amazon
basically setting up systems to monetize people from cradle to
grave and it appears we really are doomed.

Neal,
The real enemy here is out-of-control capitalism, a system that
puts profits for the owners over the very lives of people, its
very own exploited workers. Capitalism would implode in 30
seconds if left alone as a an economic system.

I read the article about censored search and my thought was how
well this could serve the Chinese governments plan of social
control-- they could use that data in their social control
program.
Several years ago Google pulled out of China and the dominant
search engine in China now is Bidu. I wonder what Bidu may or
may not already be sharing with their government.

@Susan I am sure they are sharing everything. Internet search
will definitely be part of the Chinese social score.
@shl, everything man does needs to be governed by the rule of
law because everything can be corrupted. Just because I am for
free enterprise does not make me automatically believe it can
run amok.
I am more concerned about crony capitalism and the power of
large corporations over the political process in this country.
