Anything you say

Anything you say over the Internet may be used against you. I
just stumbled on an article (who said you can't find anything
interesting on italki?) about a woman who leaked information on
how Russians tried to influence the American elections*.
*The leaked document, believed to have been passed to news
website The Intercept, alleged that Moscow's military
intelligence services had attempted cyber-attacks on at least
one US voting software supplier days before the 2016 US
presidential election.
It also accused Russia of sending phishing emails to more than
100 local election officials.
However, there was no suggestion in the document that the
hackers were successful.
The files were apparently marked for declassification not before
May 2042

Do you, SHL, see what I see here?:

Prosecutors also used Winner’s own words against her, including
a Facebook chat in which Winner once wrote to her sister: “Look,
I only say I hate America like 3 times a day.”
Winner’s social media postings also included some scathing
opinions on President Donald Trump. Three months before her
arrest, Winner posted on Facebook that climate change was a more
important issue than health care “since not poisoning an entire
population seems to be more in line with ‘health’ care, and not
the disease care system that people voted for a soulless ginger
orangutan to ‘fix.'”

If I remember correctly, Froggy, this woman was an employee of a
defense contractor. So she was bound by secrecy laws. By the
way, what a winner of a name. What were her parents thinking.

No, of course she was, I'm not questioning that. She leaked a
classified document, sure. My point is that her private
conversations with her sister were not only analyzed (which
could be even understandable - to check if she hadn't been up to
something more serious etc.), but also taken out of context,
dragged out and publicly cited, to prove what an ungrateful
government-outsourcer employee she is. Now this is sweet.

When you play on that level - federal government - you have to
expect that everything that you've ever said will be used
against you. That's the way the game has always been played. The
stakes are high. Everything is under scrutiny.

Frog Lady-
This lady worked for a federal contractor and had a security
clearance and she mailed a classified document to a news
organization. Yeah, you can`t do that. Look what happened to
Snowden. She wasn’t and couldn’t be legally charged for saying
she hated America 3 times on Facebook. People say that 1000
times on Facebook everyday. She wasn’t prosecuted for saying she
didn’t believe in climate change or whatever she said about
denying it being more important to the US government than
providing healthcare. So what? That`s not a crime. Yeah, the
government is watching, and always had, even before the internet
and social media. People are on the streets in organized
protests saying they hate the US government all the time,
joining BAMN, and all sorts of other anti-US organizations. Have
you even looked at The Militant? Not exactly a US government
supporting newspaper, and it`s published weekly in San
Francisco. And, as far as prosecutors throwing out at trial that
she hated the US government, before a jury, doesn’t surprise me
one bit. What was the defense response to that remark? I don’t
have the trial transcript, but it probably was: „Objection,
relevancy, move to strike. JUDGE: Sustained. The jury is
instructed to disregard the comments.“ If you read the trial
transcript that’s likely how it reads. Remarks like that would
be inadmissible at trial because they are irrelevant and
prejudicial for the jury to hear. She wasn’t on trial for
saying she hated the US government 3 times on Facebook or
anything else she said that was anti-American anywhere.
Prosecutors do this crap all the time to prejudice the jury. She
was on trial for leaking classified documents as a former
employee of a NSA contractor, with a security clearance, to a
new agency. Yeah, that`s illegal. But the trial tactics? That
means nothing. It´s a lawyer thing and I`ve seen it all the
time. By the way, Snowden always talked about how he loved
America. I think he still does. But, that’s not helping him a
bit.

„Prosecutors also used Winner’s own words against her, including
a Facebook chat in which Winner once wrote to her sister: “Look,

Of course, they would mention this for media hype, but the
report doesn’t say whom prosecutors said this to. It was almost
surely not in court at trial because it would be prejudicial for
a jury to hear. The defense probably filed a Motion in Limine,
which was surely granted, to prevent prosecutors from mentioning
this publically before or at trial. This would just be standard
defense practice and would be malpractice not to do it.
So, these remarks were likely made to the press after sentencing
just as a propaganda ploy. You can see what a barbaric sentence
she got as it is.

Frog,
Oh, and don’t worry about me. I`ve made all kinds of plans to
escape from the US before the place turns into totalitarian
dictatorship, which is coming. No empire has ever lasted forever
in world history. And Jerry and NealC will be stuck here singing
the blues. LOL.
So, if you can recommend any good Polish language schools if the
Germans won`t take me in I`d be grateful. ::)
And, of course, if the Germans won`t take me in, maybe you could
write me a nice letter of recommendation on a Polish asylum
application? Actually, I read that in some countries the
President can grant citizenship to anyone they like, which is
great. I don’t know if Poland follows this rule. But, in any
event, I`ll even write my own letter of recommendation for
asylum for you. You`d only have to translate it, or I`m sure I
could get Pasha to translate it (he`s a nice guy) and sign it
too.
I was thinking of something like this: „I am delighted to have
this opportunity to recommend SHL for political asylum, a
gentleman I know from social media. He deserves political
asylum. He is a wonderful person, is highly intelligent
humanitarian and he supports a very popular US political party,
The Party for Socialism and Liberation, which publishes a very
insightful weekly newspaper for real working class people, The
Militant. I think he would be a wonderful contribution to Polish
society due to his humanitarian values and his insight into
world affairs. He is a good Evangelical Lutheran, of the German
variety, (even if he hasn`t been to church in a few years) and
is learning to integrate by studying Polish. He may speak Polish
with a heavy German accent, but he says he`s working on it. I
cannot recommend two other Americans, NealC, because he is a
capitalist chicken killer (he raises chickens and sends them to
the guillotine even when they`re not even fully grown) who
underpays his workers so he can live in luxury, and this other
American Jerry, supports everything the US government does and
has a weird name for Obama. No, unfortunately he would not be a
good „ fit“ here either. But SHL would be a true asset. Yes, SHL
loves Germany, but all that German-Polish stuff is in the past
and, as they say, „forgive and forget.“ So, with this I offer my
full unqualified endorsement for SHL´s asylum.“
See, all you need to do is translate that into Polish, sign it,
and I`m all set. ::)

No, we wait for them to be fully grown. The largest growth
spurt for a chicken is the first 8-12 weeks depending on breed.
There is no sense slaughtering them early while they are still
making maximum surplus value for me. It is the old ones we
slaughter without mercy, sort of a Chicken "Logan's Run" around
here.
I am sure the above missive will touch the heart of the Polish
PM, citizenship is just around the corner SHL.
In actuality I will wave goodbye from Italy to your partially
communist a s s when your friends at the Militant take over and
find you are still not fully subservient to all party policies.

NealC
You don’t even show mercy to the older chickens? Horrible. So,
the middle aged ones get the guillotine? Terrible.
So, the poor workers get their surplus value stolen from them so
you can pay for your Yacht. The American way.
Yes, and I`m quite confident my asylum application will be very
influential with the Polish PM. Like you said, it will touch his
heart. I just need to enlist Pasha and Frog Lady to sign it.
Sort of like sponsors to show I`m not a flake.
And, I do hope the Italians say they have a nice place for you
down in Sicily, next to a nice family called the Sporanos. And
then you can hang out with a lot of nice Italian-American New
Yorker ex-Pats like „Lefty“ from the movie Donny Brasco. Then as
soon as you move in lefty can come up to you and say, „Hey,
Pisano. What, are you for real killing these chickens?“
