The Worst Cars ever
DIR By: nataliestpete

Hello,
May I ask you some questions about cars, roads, and rules
please?
1. Can you drive a car with a manual transmission? In case you
are a hero and like these kind of cars, do you need
2. Let’s make the situation worse. Have you ever driven a car
without power steering?
3. Imagine the situation being fully crap. Have you ever driven
or been a passenger of any Russian cars?
4. Have you ever driven a car in a “crazy” country where people
don’t follow the rules at all?
In my experience Thailand, the Dominican Republic and Egypt are
all the same. No rules. Then Russia comes. I haven’t been to
Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, India or China and
guess that the situation is not good there. I’m not sure about
roads. BTW, here is an example of a road in Russia ( a way to
Finland). I took a pic last summer.

5. I always wonder why people buy old luxury cars. I mean it’s
obviously visible and not prestigious as a result. Do you agree
that’s pointless? (It’s easy to recognize when a car was bought
by its plate number).
Thank you

1. Of course. What are you talking about? Automatic transmission
is for sissies and people aged 85+. ;) Seriously, I wouldn't be
able to afford one, they're pretty rare in Germany and mostly
driven by people who're disabled in some way.
2. No. I'm old, not ancient.
3. No.
4. Yes, it's allowed - up to a point. If they catch you with a
blood alcohol level of between 0.5 and 1.09 per thousand, you'll
only have to pay a fine. That's for random traffic control. If
you've had an accident with that much (or more) alcohol in your
blood, you'll lose your license and they make it extremely
difficult for you to get it back.
5 and 6 - I don't give a flying ****. It's transport, isn't it?
Do you worry about what your washing machine looks like? What
matters is whether it's reliable, whether maintenance and
repairs are not too expensive, whether it'll go fast when I want
it to (driving an underpowered car on a German Autobahn is
lethal) and whether its results in crash tests have been good.
7. According to statistics, in Germany Volkswagen is by far the
most popular brand (16%), followed by Opel (7%), Mercedes
(5.6%), and Ford, BMW and Audi at about 5% each.
8. Spain and Poland are crazy enough for me. (shudder)
9. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Beautiful old
cars are the only ones I can get at least moderately excited
about. Oh, to drive a Citroen DS!

Thanks a lot, Alharacas. Perhaps I reduced a number of questions
when you were writing the answers, sorry.
Maybe it sounds unbelievablly but I got “an opportunity” to
drive a car without a power steering. It wasn’t exactly a
driving but I tried too. We visited our friends’s parents in a
village and it was their Russian car.
I got my driving license in a very young age, so I learned how
to operate a car with a manual transmission. But in fact, I
cannot do it I think though I did it for a year I think.
Any amount of alcohol is forbidden for drivers in Russia, which
is good taking into consideration domestic features. I mean us,
Russians.
I thought about my last question when I saw old Porsche Cayenne
in the peer. I can’t say the exact year but it looked like a
model of the beginning of the century, while its plate number
was 178 region, which means it was bought recently. If a car
isn’t retro I don’t see the point to get a kind of prestigious
brand buying a car in “ the pension age”.
It’s interesting about plate numbers. Every region or a subject
of the Russian Federation (like St Petersburg) has its own
numbers. St Petersburg’s numbers were 78. Now it’s:
78,98,178,82. Moreover, drivers can keep their plate number when
you sale a car. I don’t remember the year when this law was
implemented. So, I keep my numbers for about 8 years.
Another “feature”, some people get special plate number which
show (let’s say so) that you have some support. Hard to explain.
These plate numbers have a kind of groups. Some of them show a
real power. It means though you break the rules, you won’t be
penalized.
My plates number helps me to avoid some problems only. It’s “ a
normal practice” here to stop drivers ( especially women) and
try to penalize them for nothing. So, my plate number helps me
to be ok in these terms.
Do you have anything similar in your countries?

Features? You mean the license plate will tell you if the driver
is a member of some sort of mafia? Wow.
In Germany, the first letters of the license plate tell you
where the car/driver is registered. B is for Berlin, HH is for
Hansestadt Hamburg, M is for Munich, etc.
The other letters and the following numbers are random, unless
you've asked and paid for them to be your initials and year of
birth, for example. And, er, only total idiots do that here. So,
in a way you'd be able to deduce a driver's mental abilities
from his license plate.
Every time you buy a different car, whether new or used, you get
issued a different license plate. I must admit I'm always a bit
nervous until I know what mine's going to say, because I live in
a district whose letters are LOS (Landkreis Oder-Spree), so
there's a good chance of getting a license plate that might say
LOS - ER. Still, it's not enough to make me want to shell out
for a customized plate.

Sorry girls, but isn’t this discussion against the EGP rules who
prohibit discussions about favorite P*i*z*z*a t*o*p*i*ng*s
banned! and favorite books. I quote:
General Discussion but within reason, meaning that topics like
favorite banned! or the well-being of carrots or any other
sentient beings traditionally used as food are prohibited. Any
user posting topics like "What is your favorite book/food/music"
will be banned without a warning. Go to italki for that.
For me discussing cars, is like discussing if women look sexier
when they wear Louboutin shoes.

Mafia :D
Let’s say softer- just corruption. Is it different? I seriously
think it’s better than mafia.
I have an updated graph with license numbers and their
priorities. Mine isn’t bad but my only issue is a speed regime.
I don’t break the rules somehow else even can because of my
license plates. Though if there are video cameras, I would have
problems any way. My husband can even drive a car being drunk.
He has never done it but some others who have the license
plates as he has, do. The main argument for justifying
themselves: they “ feel” their norm of alcohol when it’s ok.
:(Holy crap.
I know that sounds terrible but this is what we have in Russia.
Many people crushed every year and statistically the situation
becomes even worse. I do a lot of crazy things without any fear,
parkour for example, but I’m really scared of the situation on
Russian roads. It’s my personal fear.

Such a nice interpretation of my words:)
This remark I’m taking personally though without any negative
feelings. It will be my last comment about attractivness and
style. Get fun:P
I don’t think that any specific brand of shoes/pumps or clothes
can make someone sexier. Though the style in general, certainly.
I personally against ( in general) any direct provoking styles
and my position isn’t not a secret here. But yes, I love to be
attractive and see proofs around. I do hope nothing will change
tomorrow in terms of my attitude at least.
And such a great opportunity to pretend being blonde mentally
here (though it’s the prejudice) somewhere. Could please accept
it?!)
Thanks, have a nice day!
PS Jerry, here we are:) Some fights as you have ordered :P

They do - if you're a pervert who likes to see women unable to
move freely...

@ Blonde you always think that any post of mine on one of your
threads is a personal attack. I was trying to make a joke. It is
a perilous thing in a foreign language. But remember that the
earth turns around the sun and not vice-versa as Galileo told us
a longtime ago.

Nope:) I prefer to ignore some scientifically proven facts as
you do with the basic principles of humour.
Just accept it or ignore me. Oh, don’t forget to “switch on” EI.
:P
Good. Mental f... not only with KingS. I love it ;)
