Font sizes, do they matter when you learn a language?

Do you think that the size of the fonts does have an impact when
you try to learn a new language?
Are texts printed in bigger characters easier to read?
Are certain scripts easier to decipher than others?
What could be the reason that some languages (like Arabic) are
printed so small? Don’t tell me that it is to save paper!
This question concerns also Farsi and Urdu. Please King Slayer
and Suleiman tell me your opinion.

What if I disagree with you? I think that Persian fonts are
pretty standard and I have never noticed that they were smaller.
A 12px font in the collection of standard Persian fonts is not
any different from a standard 12px Latin font.

Alpha, I so wholeheartedly agree with you that it makes me
wonder whether this might be - horribile dictu! - an age-related
thing?

One of my current italki teachers said that her grandfather
would like to have a Kindle device, since he cannot see well
anymore.
