Belarus: We're switching off the Intenet

Lukashenko must be wondering why it has to be so much hassle
after being in service for 26 years, to be re-elected for a
president. What's with this democracy thing and why can't other
countries mind their business? Prior to this presidential
election, he had the other candidates arrested or at least
threatened with arrest because they just wouldn't stop running
for president. In the end, he had the Internet switched off,
countrywide. The Internet! I didn't think anyone would actually
do this. It's almost fascinating in a sick kind of way... An
old-fashioned dictator meets modern technology. China, Russia
and some others rushed to congratulate him. Way to go,
