Alternates to restrictions on US passport holders to the EU

This COVID-19 thing could go on a long time. Why can‘t they just
let US Americans back into the EU on the condition that they 1)
get tested for Covid on arrival, and 2) be put in quarantine for
10 days thereafter, and make them pay for the cost? I’d gladly
stay in Iceland for a few weeks. Then, if they test negative,
they let us in. If positive, they give us the boot on the next
plane back to the States? That seems fair. Otherwise, it could
take years to get a treatment or vaccine and then what?
Otherwise what are my options? Go visit Alabama like Pasha said,
or go visit one of those chicken Islands (Hawaii)?
Something is going to have to change sometime soon. :'(

On the next plane with whom? Who's going to travel with you on a
plane if you have COVID-19?

Oh, I don’t know. Maybe they wouldn’t even let me back in the
US. Then, I don’t know what I’d do. Maybe the Czech‘s would let
me in ;)
