       Sticky Situation

The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919 killed several people
and destroyed scores of buildings. Do you know of any
food-related disasters in your country? We've covered the heresy
of a certain tropical fruit used in a certain way, and of adding
cream and sugar to coffee, so try to think of something else, if
       you can.
       Thank you,
       Sid the plumber
P.S. Having to verify that you aren't a robot on three or four
of those security boxes is ridiculous. It makes posting very
unpleasant. If one has logged in, why are the extra steps
necessary? This is a big negative.

Never heard about this kind of disaster. Looked up that
incredible story on Wikipedia and found the London Beer Flood in
       1814

Oh sugar. A beer flood would have been even worse for Czechs,
though. That would call for a national mourning day.
Look, I don't know why it thinks you're a robot. Has anyone else
had this problem? I'm not aware of any settings that would cause
this. It might be just temporary while you're a newbie. There
might be a chapter about it in the 300-page manual we sent you
as part of our welcome pack along with cozy socks, "I heart EGP"
fridge magnet and the autobiography of Angela Davis that doubles
up as toilet paper in these uneasy times. If you have any other
problems, do not hesitate to contact us.

Nikola, toilet paper? You mean don’t like Angela Davis? Oh no.
Gosh, she’s got speeches all over Youtube and people love her
out in California, probably because she used to be a University
Professor out here in Santa Cruz, and was for years. And a lot
of folks flock to her lectures. :)

Oh, I forgot that only nice people get their speeches posted on
YouTube. Silly me. Well, being such a people-loving person she
supposedly is, I'm sure she wouldn't mind about the toilet
paper, if it helped people ;)

Nikola, how can you bad mouth someone with a mind like Angela
Davis‘? A visionary like that? Well, I’ve watched her
interviewed a lot on this American TV news station, Democracy
Now! , and they love her over there. They put her pearls of
wisdom on YouTube all the time. And they call her “Dr. Davis”,
because she got a doctoral degree from an East Berlin University
back in the old days. And, when the USSR was still around, I
think they gave her the “Lenin Peace Prize” in Moscow, which
she keeps proudly on her wall at the University. (She retired
with the highest honors from the University of California, Santa
Cruz, but still has an office there.) I always wondered what
kind of “peace” Lenin ever brought to the world? Oh well.
I recall posting a video clip of hers where she said if she
thought the world was doomed to live forever under capitalism
she didn’t know how she could keep going on. Well, somehow she’s
struggled through the horrors of capitalism :)
