Just checking in here for the first time in months, after
getting the sad news from Nikola. Glad to see you guys are ok.
Here in Kansas, a mostly rural state in the middle of the
country we are slower getting the cases of COVID 19 than in the
coastal cities.
Our death count here is starting to go up, but nothing like New
York or California (where my oldest son lives). I was fortunate,
last fall I started getting set up planning to do part of my
practice through telehealth. Our governor was the first one to
order our schools to be shut down for the rest of the school
year. I think that was March 17th and I haven´t left my property
since. I am working through web conferencing with clients.
I certainly have never imagined anything like this in my
lifetime. It takes a lot to drastically change the American
lifestyle, and I am aware it is changing people´s behavior
around the world. We have been accustomed to tragedies hitting
localized places around the world, but seeing something
affecting the whole world like this is quite new for me. One
other therapist I chat with asked me ¨Does it seem like you are
having the same session over and over again?¨ I am guessing it
is that way around the world.

Hi everybody, in Southern Europe and in the region where I am
living the situation is dire.
Life is surreal, spring is here and everything seems nice but
you cannot enjoy it. You can’t meet friends and family. The
perception of time also has changed, it seems months since the
nightmare has started and yet days seem so short, one hardly can
do half of the tasks on his to do list.
Checking the news, organizing daily tasks, supporting friends by
phone, managing anxiety and keep working online is a hard
task....
And it’s only the beginning. Once Europe will be over it there
will be the backlash from the rest of the world.

I'm glad to hear from so many people, especially as some of you
are in areas that are very seriously affected by it. Please keep
dropping by so we know you're OK.
For those who aren't in touch with Jerry, he is alright. Indiana
is currently No. 15 among American states but sadly has been
making its way up steadily.

I heard that California and Washington State, though hit hard,
are stabilized better than anywhere else in the country. The
mid-west has not been hit as hard, but the New York area is the
epicenter and not looking better, at least not yet. New York has
lost what, 6,000 people already when it lost around 3,000 due to
9/11? So, things there are really looking bad.
