       Do you find this show offensive?

       I've been watching Mind Your Language, an old British sitcom
       about a group of adults from different countries learning
       English. Pleasantly surprised at how funny it was, I asked my
       British friend about it but she was far from excited. She told
       me it was very "of its time" (1977) and that it had been
       cancelled because of the racial stereotypes. The stereotypes are
       real and there's no doubt that a show like this would not air
       these days. I have to admit, though, I don't find it terribly
       offensive. They are just exaggerated characters who act childish
       (British and foreign ones alike) but they're not portrayed as
       mean-spirited or evil. The meanest character is actually the
       condescending principal who's British. Therefore, I'd like to
       ask if you find it offensive. I'm particularly interested in how
       it's perceived by people who come from the same countries as the
       characters in the show. And I do apologise to British users who,
       like my friend, find it cringeworthy.

       I thought it was good!  The current nanny state Politically
       Correct nonsense has gotten out of hand in the UK
