Lingua Franca or personal Sabir?

I met recently a Spanish speaking woman who found her future
husband online. They are married now. He’s Italian and lives
since 30 years in a francophone region of Europe. He barely
knows French. I asked her what language they speak together. She
said “I speak Spanish but he talks in a mixture of Italian,
French, Spanish and Portuguese since his previous wife was
Portuguese”.
I found that interesting and it reminded me of Sabir, an extinct
Lingua Franca that was used around the Mediterranean Sea as a
communication tool among merchants and sailors. Sabir isn’t
equal to Pidgin since it is less rich as a language and fairly
more simple.
Here an exemple of a phrase written in Sabir by the French
playwright author Molière

Do you know any people who made up their own family Sabir?

My mum was telling me about the way she used to communicate with
Spanish tourists when we lived in the centre of Prague. She
speaks Italian so she would adjust her words slightly to make
them sound more Spanish. She compared it to having a speech
impediment where you say "sh" instead of "s". It makes me wonder
if they would have understood her anyway and this way they just
thought she had a speech impediment :D
