The Democrats are also slaves to special interests and bought
and sold by large corporations.
156 billion dollars in just direct costs for our overseas bases,
I would say at least double, more likely triple that base cost
to include operations and equipment. And that is only part of
the cost of being the world's policemen.
I'm tired of bearing the cost.

Good song for all our NATO allies not paying their 2%:

One of my favorite old tunes.
I totally agree I am tired of the US being the world’s policemen
and bearing the cost, all the while being spit at and hated by
the very countries it protects. It’s insane. We should just keep
the money and funnel it back into benefits and services for our
own people, like healthcare, University tuition, more generous
social security. Let the NATO folks protect themselves. If it’s
too expensive for them, let them cut their own social services.
Can you believe the US pays something like 3.50% of its GNP into
NATO, down from 3.75% in 2014, almost double its commitment?
Pretty amazing. Luxembourg comes in a 0.5%.
Why not just tell Denmark, cut some of your social services,
raise taxes, do something to make up for the .63% loss,
otherwise you are on your own?
