Sepideh, that’s a funny question. Reminds me of a well payed
summer job I had, when I was a student in college, barely 20
years old. I accompanied groups of American teenagers and their
chaperones to Italy. For six girls and boys there was an
American Mom who was on her first trip outside the US, scared to
death. It was very difficult to deal with those “chaperones”.
They all asked me “Is it true that Italians grab women on their
ass?”. Every single Mom asked me that! The whole bunch was in a
state of permanent excitement while we walked on the street and
visited monuments, giggling and screaming at the sight of any
       young men.
Alas, none of the girls was grabbed neither at her ass nor at
       her p***y.
       Italian men are more subtle.

I think a young woman should slap a young man who is being
"forward", escalating from there to yelling at him to shame him
to kneeing him in the groin if he keeps coming on. None of that
will stop someone serious about using violence, but it will do
the trick on some ordinary idiot who thinks he can do what he
       wants.
My mother told my sister that is why God made it easy aim at a
mans genitals if he misbehaves :-)
For men who choose violence, many of the cute young southern
girls I knew at college carried a 25 automatic (usually an
Italian Beretta) in their pocketbook (purse), given to them by
       their father at 16.

I am not aware that strangers would routinely touch women in my
country. You get the odd compliment every now and then, builders
used to be a bit naughty whistling at girls and yelling random
stuff but I haven't seen much of it recently (could be just that
I'm getting old). I've never experienced any non-consensual
physical contact. If I had, I think what Neal suggested would
have been a neat solution (kneeing him rather than shooting
him). I did have a guy follow me on the subway and around the
station, that was very unpleasant. Luckily, the driver saw him
follow me from one carriage to another while the train was
waiting at the terminal station, and as I got off, he closed the
doors, waved at me and left, with the guy on board.
