I'm just giving you a hard time, Steve. But think about it, the
name of any airport is on the terminal not because it needs to
be. Everyone knows where they are, whether it's Berlin of
Stockholm or JFK or what have you. It's only on there because it
would look odd without it. All airports in the world could have
no name or have the name written in Navajo. What does it matter?
It matters not a whit. But since English is the international
language of aviation, it makes sense to use English or do as the
       Russians do.
In my mind, there are worse things to get upset about. Such as
the price of food at airport terminals.

       Very true Jerry!
Yeah, I know the importance of this isn’t going to hit Fox News
anytime soon, with the news of Iran shooting down the drone
being a bit more important ;D........
I kind of remember when the French wanted so badly for French to
be the international language that they really promoted it. But,
they eventually gave up I suppose and capitulated to English.
In California, Spanish is just practically a second language,
but French always came in a close second in schools and
colleges. That’s something I could never figure out. German
always trailed behind in third place.
In the US anyway, it all depends on the teacher. If the teacher
loves the language and finds it fun to teach and is enthusiastic
it‘s infectious in a sense. Students get drawn into it. If you
were teaching biology or chemistry you could be the most boring
horrible teacher in the world and you’d still have a job. With
foreign languages, if you approach them like a biology class,
you‘ll be out of a job by the end of the year.
