Is this a good Spanish translation?

This is a great old song and i like Jose Feliciano‘s rendition
of it. Here it has Spanish subtitles. I wonder if Alharacas or
Susan can tell me if this is a good Spanish translation since
song translations are always difficult.

On the whole, it's fine. Translating "But it takes so long" as
"Pero falta mucho" is probably quite acceptable, even though a
more literal translation would be "Pero tarda mucho", I suppose.
Even "Quiero estar a tu lado" isn't that much of a stretch for
"I really wanna go with you", although it had been used earlier
in the song as an okay translation for "I really wanna be with
you".
But there's one really weird bit near the end, where he sings
"'Cause he taught me how to play this here guitar", and the
subtitle reads "Está fuera de lugar que lo diga ahora?", which
means "Is it inappropriate to say so now?" :D

I think Jose Feliciano is an amazing entertainer. I especially
like the way he freely deviates form the official lyrics of a
song adds his own which work well, like „I was born in Puerto
Rico in an old tin shack and all I had was just a hanging on my
back, but I never never knew I could come this far, and I never
thought that I could be a star, but I thank the Lord, wherever I
am Lord, cos he taught me how to play this here guitar (amazing
the command he has on the instrument) ...“ not in the original
but it adds a nice twist to his version, at least, of the song.

So, what do you think of this German song translation (the song
is a bit depressing, but good)
I think it‘s pretty good.

Yeah, I was wondering too where the word „Gitarre“ is in the
Jose Feliciano song? I haven’t checked but Spanish must have a
word for Gitarre that’s pretty close. Whoever translated this
totally missed that one up.
