Can we have more members to discuss on this forum or not?

I found this forum interesting to discuss and share opinions
with smart people. However, it seems that there are not many
members who participate in discussions. I usually see 6 to 7
members at most posting topics or comment.
I hope more people will participate in discussions and I can
receive more diverse opinions of people from diverse areas.
Actually, active members here are all from Europe and the US.
How about inviting people who like to discuss from italki?

We have a member or two from italki drop by occasionally, su.ki,
but not often. I imagine some may lurk a bit here but not post.
You can certainly welcome and invite anyone from italki to come
over.

I think most everyone would appreciate it if you invite members.
Speaking as someone shadow banned from italki, I have no idea
who I would invite. In my personal life, I do not know anyone
interested in foreign languages, except for my teachers.
Italki does marketing to get people to their site because they
can potentially make a profit. I really am not sure how this
site could grow rapidly. I think it is growing slowly or at
least not declining since I have been here.

Probably it's much easier to find an interesting discussion here
than on Italki. I sometimes take a look at the discussion board
there but after scrolling lots of friend request I find one or
two I could comment on. Unfortunately I start to analyse the
draft version of my comment looking for forbidden topics and
words which may be misunderstood by someone... And I withdraw.
Here I'm often embarrassed by the high level of the discussion
language and the broad knowledge of the participants. I often
feel not wise enough and my language level not high enough to
participate. I have a profession which takes enormous amounts of
my time and narrows my mental horizons. I sometimes have no time
to read or write anything, and my foreign language skills are
diminishing.
Ok. It's too much about me. I think that there are lots of
silent members here who have their own reasons for not
participating in many discussions. But I see their nicknames
appearing among those who are logging in occasionally. There are
many people on Italki who write they have seen this forum but
haven't decided to register here. It's not just a censorship
free version of Italki. It's not a short message exchange system
like social media either. When people read discussions here they
may have impression of this forum being an exclusive club.

Yeah, she just posted on Italki.
She is a language enthusiast and professional, in my opinion and
gives good answers. But, then I like her nemesis, Guyomar, too.
But, then that‘s just me. I can run with the hare and hunt with
the hounds. Either that, or I can just be neutral and stay out
of conflict, like the Swiss. ???
Richard would be nice to see come over, but he is really just
interested in language discussion.
Alice from Ohio just started a thread asking what one‘s favorite
holiday is. Hers is Halloween because she gets lots of candy. :D
Of course, we could ask their resident vegan activist, Wanda,
over. She could refer me to her vegan site to „cure“ my heart
disease. All those sacrificed animals over the years were taking
revenge on me she would probably say!

Ah, yes. Could be true. That the animals are taking revenge on
you, that is.
Is Wanda still on Italki? Oh, she's probably been banned, too,

Irena,
Wanda might be. I didn’t check. Although she is Dutch, she lives
in California and reminds me of someone who would fit in
perfectly in California, the San Francisco Bay Area, or south
down the Coast Highway to Santa Cruz on the water. Vegan, into
all sorts of alternative life-style things, probably very
progressive politically. She is just like the folks where I live
(actually I’m on the outer fringe of it, but still in the
general zone, only 80km from San Francisco). I don‘t think
she‘d fit in anywhere else in the country, other than possibly
Seattle.
I like Miriam because she is smart, gives good answers and is a
language professional and enthusiast. While I
can‘t say she has been as nice to me as Alharacas, she‘s been
fine. But, then at the same time, I was pretty friendly with
Guyomar too. I wouldn’t ask you to comment on Guyomar, but I
always got along with her quite well.
Yes, and I do think Wanda would say the spirits of all those
dead animals I‘ve eaten in my life are coming back to haunt me,
sort of a karma-thing. :D
All those poor sacrificed pigs, cows, turkeys, chickens, not to
mention the fish over all those years. I guess I should go to
church and repent. ;D

I've wondered for some time of this was the impression others
have. It's a shame. We're all friendly with each other and it
seems clubby. Anyone is welcome. We don't bite.
