Ikea bookcases. Who knows how to build a Billy?

Does anybody on this board know how to put together a Billy
bookcase from Ikea?
I don’t. I am a nil for such things. I am totally dependent on
the help of others for this matter.
I only know how to read the books and put them in the shelves. I
wish I had more practical skills.

I did that when I was young and limber, I used to be good at it.
Every time I built a piece of furniture I always did it wrong
the first time so dont worry too much about it. Just put it
together the best you can, dont do the final tightening down
until you are sure you have everything right.

Sofia, I just checked and there are quite a few videos on
YouTube. I would post one but it's probably better if you choose
one that suits you. Some of them are short and the assembly is
done very fast, it's hard to see what they're doing. Then
there's one with an extremely handsome guy but it's a slightly
different type of bookcase. Don't get me wrong, I still watched
it ;)

Nikola I know on YouTube one finds anything nowadays.
IKEA bookcases were a kind of landmark of emancipation when I
was at the university. To buy one was really a sign of being
independent, away from home, in one‘s first studio apartment or
shared flat. That was before YouTube. I remember I really needed
help. In Europe we neither had cars to bring the kit home nor a
driving licence to rent a car. So handsome guys, with a car and
some manual skills really were popular.

Bookcases are great - I love putting them together!
It's cupboards I have trouble with, their doors are always like
me: ever so slightly unhinged. (sigh)
