Americans arguing about guns (again) SPLIT FROM How do you feel
       if you are a juror...

All those examples of German sentencing guidelines really just
serve to prove how barbaric the US criminal justice system is.
In the US, you’d probably get 10 years for just spitting on the
sidewalk in Alabama, or Texas. They’d probably give you the
death penalty in Texas for parking in a handicapped spot at
       WalMart.
Of course, you can carry a loaded AK-47 around and do some
shopping with one on your shoulder at WalMart in Texas and
       that’s okay.
       Average scene in Texas folks:

Steve, you're getting all worked up again! Please. Think of your
       poor heart.

Irena, my friend, that's not an average scene in TX or in any
other state of the Union. There's what's called 'open carry'
groups who do this sort of thing to remind people that they are
allowed to carry open { not concealed }. They do it with
handguns too. I wish this were an average scene all across the
       US, but sadly, it's not.
A few years ago a group of these people did this in my town. No
one batted an eye. The police chief commented that it's legal to
do so. I wish everyone open carried. And in all buildings except
jails and courts. The result would be a hell of a lot less
crime. Maybe someday we'll get there.

Public discourse would definitely be more polite in an open

       Irena,
Yeah, I don’t like dead bodies either.
What you are seeing is illegal in California. If they did that
in California, you’d have about 10 police cars out front with
police entering the building with bullet proof vests and have
everyone on the ground in a matter of minutes. And, they would
confiscate all the guns and not give them back, and then take
the gun owners into custody. Then they would be criminally
       charged, and rightfully so:
“In 2012, the California State Assembly decided to take a
tougher stand against the carrying of firearms in public. ...
However, as of January 1, 2012, according to California open
carry laws under California Penal Code 26350 PC, it is a crime
to openly carry any firearm in public, even if the gun is
       unloaded.“
I can tell you, if I ever saw anything like this, I’d
immediately call the police. In spite of all the NRA and guns
rights propaganda, the police really don’t like this kind of
childish nonsense. AND, IT´S ILLEGAL IN MY STATE! This is 2019,
not the Wild West of 1869! Imagine that on a “Visit the USA”
       poster in Europe?
The penalty for doing this is up to one year in jail and a
       $1,000 file per offense.
And thanks, Nikola and Irena for thinking about my heart! :)

And, back in the real world...
Steve the people in the picture are not violating the California
Statute as they are not carrying handguns, they are carrying
rifles, weapons with a barrel longer than 16 inches that cannot
       be concealed.
There are parts of your state where that sort of open carry
would not be such a shock.
       You big pansy
