How do you feel if you are a juror and cast a vote for death pen

How do you feel if you are a juror and vote to consent death
penalty for a brutal killer? People usually feel angry when they
see cruel crimes, and they think that the murderers or criminals
should be executed and it helps the society make a better place
to purge the dangerous people. But if you were directly involved
in the death sentence yourself, you might feel guilty with the
execution of someone who you agreed to death penalty.
Or, do you think that he deserves the death penalty for a
punitive justice? Actually, it's said that there are different
reactions of jurors with this. Some feel guilty and have a
serious trauma from the feeling of guilty, and others don't.
       What do you think of?

In some cases I would volunteer to pull the switch.

       Wow, Neal C,
       You are so strong...
I am in favor of the death penalty in some cases, but do not
want to put blood on my own hands.
You will understand what I intend to talk about, if you see
       this.

I am glad that I live in a civilized country, so I am not
obliged to think about this kind of question.

The death penalty is pure and simple barbarism. I oppose it in
all cases and always have, no matter what the crime. It‘s a
crime in itself perpetrated by a barbaric State. It appeals to
the basic and terrible instinct in men to „get even“ or for
       revenge is all.
I oppose the death penalty and always have my whole life.
California, where I live, put a moratorium on the death penalty,
meaning there will be no more carried out in the future. The US
is split on it. The US southeast (in Texas they „give you a fair
trial and a fair hanging“ as the saying goes. And all the
Southern States like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, those
barbarous places, have it. And those are the most backward
ignorant places in the world, let alone the country. Get fat,
die young and carry a loaded gun in those places. And never
travel or learn foreign languages. That’s how they live. Oh and
salute and build monuments to treasonous people like Robert E.
Lee or Jefferson Davis, both of whom should have been hanged
after the US Civil War (the death penalty was accepted in the
19th Century, it shouldn’t be in the 20th or 21st Century, so
I‘d say today a Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis could rot in
jail their whole lives, not have bronze statutes made out of
       them.)

Hmmmm...Are you sure that you oppose the death penalty, Steve?
And why does the civil war upset you so much? Sure, it was a
tragedy, but you seem to take it personally.

Since I live in a European country other than Belarus, I am
unlikely to find myself in this sort of situation any time soon.

Isn’t that awfully comfortable? One problem less to solve in
       everyday life.

A few months ago a man has been released from jail in my country
after spending there 19 years. He had been accused of murder and
sentenced to prison. After these 19 years it came out he was
innocent. If we had still the death sentence available - he
would be already dead. These things happen.
During the communist times there was an infamous serial killer
in the area where I live. He killed many women here, including a
relative of the communist party leader. The police (milicja) was
under pressure to find him and close the case quickly. They
arrested a man, sentenced him to death and executed. Nowadays
there are rumours that the man executed wasn't the real
       murderer.
When I think about these examples I agree that the death penalty
isn't good solution, even for people found guilty of murder.
But on the other hand when I hear about people organising mass
murder and being proud of it, like e.g. Mr Breivik or leaders of
terrorist groups... I sometimes have doubts...

Like the old saying goes { and this is one of the many things
       that p i s s e d off a handful of people on italki when I would
write it, resulting in downvotes and kicking off*} -- Everyone
is against the death penalty until grandma has her throat slit
and is buried in a shallow grave.
It's easy to be forgiving if it doesn't affect you.
       * Those were good times. No complaints.
