I even had a Fiat once, a 1973 Fiat 128.

You know what Fiat stands for, don't you, Steve?

No, I don‘t know Jerry. When I got it I know a friend of mine
had some unkind things to say about it. I actually worked one
summer when I was 17 for the local Fiat dealer. I remember
taking all the plastic wrap off the seats of them when they got
delivered new from the Benicia loading dock. Then they stopped
importing them a few years later to the US. Had something to do
with emissions controls, or safety requirements. Now they‘re
back.
The absolute worst cars were the old British Leyland cars, like
Jaguar. Beautiful cars, but horribly unreliable. Their quality
control was in the dumps in the 70s, and they were always having
car strikes in Britain.

But then Ford was „Found on the Road Dead“ too. :)

My first car was a 4-year-old Bay. I lived so far from
civilization that we didn't have cars yet.
