A topical puzzle

Pretty easy... however it may help if you check a US calendar to
see what is celebrated on May 13th. This is a very old,
sentimental song from 1915. It is so sentimental that nowadays
it is considered comical and there are many parodies of it. I
have blanked out parts of it. Your puzzle is to figure out what
should go in the blanks.
I've been around the world, you bet, but never went to school
Hard knocks are all I seem to get, perhaps I've been a fool;
But still, some educated folks, supposed to be so swell,
Would fail if they were called upon a simple word to spell.
Now if you'd like to put me to the test,
There's one dear name that I can spell the best!
____ is for the million things she gave me,
____ means only that she's growing old;
____ is for the tears she shed to save me,
____ is for her heart of purest gold;
____ is for her eyes with love-light shining,
____ means right and right she'll always be!
Put them all together, they spell _______ ,
A word that means the world to me.
If you want to hear me singing it, here it is. On my third try
recording it, my wife said "Stop! Stop! Don't you dare sing it
again if you want to grow old!"
