Well Nikola you can split the thread again in two
A) questions turning around cognitive impairment in elder
persons and the way to detect them
B) US politics and “God save the republicans” or “the democrats”
Going back to topic A, here a link to other articles about
speech analysis
HTML https://www.researchgate.net/publication/315911146_Assessment_of_everyday_conversation_and_acoustic_environments_to_objectively_identify_changes_in_cognition_A_proof-of-concept_study
As for the poor victimized republicans, the first scientific
article I quoted said that George Bush didn’t have
neuropsychological health problems!
And pro-Trump activists aren’t nicer than democrats. Looking on
the net for the above scientific article I found some quite ugly
and disgusting websites attacking Nancy Pelosi. This is why US
politics, at the age of social media, internet, self proclaimed
journalists and so on doesn’t interest me at all.

And what is your professional analysis of Pelosi? Have you seen
her freeze and her mind go blank during speeches? She frequently
identifies people incorrectly. Again, a double standard. And by
the way, George W. Bush was simply accused of being an idiot.
There, that's nice, isn't it?
I'm still puzzled why foreigners feel they have the absolute
right to analyze US political leaders but we aren't supposed to
say anything about the state of affairs in other countries.
Double standard, anyone? { Never mind the fact that we GIVE
BILLIONS in aid to other countries. And don't tell me it's
because we WANT TO TAKE THINGS from the countries who benefit
from our largesse. Of course we do in some cases. That's how
politics has always worked. You scratch my back and I'll scratch
yours. And more importantly, the leaders of these countries
agreed to it. Vote them out if you don't like it. I'm sure
Russia would be willing to step in and give you some worthless
rubles. }
I spend close to zero time worrying about the health or politics
of the leader of Switzerland or Italy or any other place on the
planet. My life is complicated enough. Maybe Europeans should
take fewer of their famously long vacations and two-hour lunches
and instead work harder and mind their own business and not that
of the US.

Sofia, if you want to start a topic that is unrelated to this
board and addresses solely the cognitive impairment in elderly
people, you're more than welcome to. If you place it anywhere
but this "controversial" board, it won't get flooded with
political comments.

It is well known (at least in France) that many of the leaders
of the 20th century were sick.
In the late 70 the journalist Pierre Accoce published a book
with the title “Those sick persons that govern us”. Later he
wrote a second book about the same subject.
HTML https://www.abebooks.com/book-search/title/ces-malades-qui-nous-gouvernent/
The most absurd, sad but ridiculous story about a sick president
is the one concerning the current Algerian president Bouteflika.
He had years ago a cerebral vascular accident, he is unable to
speak, to walk but is kept in power by his party against the
will of any sound person.

When I read your post Jerry, :-\ I am wondering what the hell I
am still doing on this board. I was just answering a question
from Neal about Reagan.
As for your idol, since he was elected, I stopped looking at any
newsfeed that bears his picture. It is not the US Republican
Party that bothers me but this particular man.
I think I should go to the gym in my long european lunch break
or do some exercise to prevent memory loss, instead of loosing
my time.
Sometimes I wonder how I will end up, someday, mixing up all the
languages I learned and just saying
“The thing/ le truc/ quel coso/ das Zeug/ esa cosa/
الشيء/ rem/ το
πράγμα”.
Maybe my caregiver will be Russian and I will proudly tell her
the only sentence I still remeber in her language
что здесь?
это
карандаш! ;D

You did refer to him as „our great leader“ (I won‘t go back and
bore everyone with the exact quote) because it hardly matters.
But, a leader´s state of mental health should be of serious
concern to people, whoever the person may be. Particularly when
their babbling sounds like that of a 10 year old.
And, I don‘t blame Sofia for saying US politics doesn‘t interest
her in the age of the internet and all the garbage out there.
The Republicans do the same to the Dems the Republicans blame
the Dems for doing to them.
But, I agree and just try, as hard as it is, to ignore any
newsfeed dealing with Trump.

I never said "idol." I don't worship idols. I said 'our great
leader.' But you don't read everything before you comment. I
also did not say that mental health does not matter when it
comes to national leaders. What I did say is that there is a
massive double standard and that the press is hysterical that
Trump is not suffering from a horrible disease. That's a fact. I
watched the news conference where the reporters went bananas in
disbelief and shock. Journalism is anything but these days.
