I am so PO'D right now.
As many know I 'generously' allowed my ex Brother In Law (from
this point forward to be referred to as BIL) to unexpectedly
show up on my doorstep and park his butt on my couch since
September of last year.
He has now got a well paying job and has been paying me rent and
cover up costs ... we are about even ... he doesn't owe me back
pay and I don't mind helping out a friend.
But this guy is a serious mess with his money.
I am not going to go off into a tangent about the mess he made
with his money before ... I am just going to talk of what I know
of from this point on.
I set up at simple but elaborate scheme to verify that he was
pilfering from my 'small change' buckets.
Any one that is Canadian, you know about the accumulation of the
loonies and the twonies.
The loonies I save up for laundry.
The twonies I save up for a 'rainy' day.
I had a strong suspicion that he had found my stashes months
ago, and recently I noticed depletions in my twonies bucket.
But I couldn't come out right and accuse him.
So several days ago I noticed another aberration, and I left a
VERY STRONGLY WORDED letter in that bucket.
And hid the bucket to a new place.
When I came home from work today ... EVERYTHING ... even before
I walked in the door ... told me he had found that bucket and
the PO'D note.
The door was locked.
The door is NEVER locked. He locked it to perform his search
and to deter me in case I came home early, which I have done
many times, he never knows when I am coming home.
He forgot to unlock it.
So I had to search for my keys and he let me in.
I could tell right away by his attitude that he had found the
bucket and the note.
Piss on him.
He stole from me to feed his cigarette habit and he keeps
feeding money to some skank in the Philippines ... plus he
drinks every night.
He can't handle the high expense of cigarettes and booze here in
Canada ... he is so used to buying them on the cheap
internationally ... he doesn't know how to live within his
means.
So he has to steal from ME ... the ONLY friend he has on this
continent.
Colour me PO'D.
He is at work now, I know he is going through things in his head
how to 'justify' it ... but cripes, this must be embarrassing to
him.
To be caught out by a deaf and blind bitch.
Just goes to show where his respect is at.

Dear Dawn,
you ARE enabling this guy to take advantage of your good
nature...show him the door, he is old enough to stand up on his
two feet and take care of himself. If not, it is high time he
did...your friend, Graz
???

Yeah yeah yeah ... I know all that ... he is working on the
agenda to move out, but things don't happen overnight.
Plus ... for all the time he has been here ... his own family
told me from day one to kick him to the curb. They wanted him
to be put in a homeless shelter.
They wanted ME to Show HIM where the homeless shelters are.
His family raised my daughter. I couldn't toss him to the curb.
I felt that it was 'Karma' for all the years that his family
had looked after My Child.
The least I could do with this unexpected surprise is to help
him in his time of need.
And it all worked out okay ... everything is fine ... except the
idiot doesn't know how to manage his sins expenses ... and he
thinks that lifting a few bucks from me here there and
obsessionally that I 'won't notice'.
He sucked up to me big time when I came home early from work
today.
We are going to go out on a picnic tomorrow.
The crap is going to fly then.
This man needs a lesson on why no one ... and I mean NO ONE ...
in his family trusts him.
The reason why I noticed the pilfering from me is because he did
it to me when I had a piggy bank in our shared home when I was
15.
He stole from me then and I caught him at it, I fully expected
for him to steal from me again.
Sheesh.
Believe me ... after months and months and months of listening
to him tell me how his wife robbed him ... I am gonna smear his
face in what he did to me.
Family!!!
I was so happy alone!!!
LOL ;)

Love the idea Meta, it actually made me LOL.
I had been in angst every time I came into this CLM's place
thinking what I would do for my first very own thread.
When I got PO'd at the BIL the other day ... and I didn't have
anywhere to vent ... my daughter and his side of the family
blocked me months ago ... MY FAMILY hasn't talked to me in years
... I came up with the old reliable expression that I would
occasionally spout in forums when things just started to seem to
be getting a 'bit' too ridiculous.
The Drama of It All.
And I wasn't thinking just about myself about it.
People like to spout off the idiocies of this journey called
Life.
This thread was never intended to be all about me and I hope
others will share their head banging moments :)
BOO ... if you wanted to visit and can't afford the ticket ... I
can't pick up the tab.

Dawn, your ex's family raised your daughter...she was a child
and lived with her father's family, which is perfectly
normal...your BIL is an adult and you are in no way responsible
for him, finacially or otherwise. That's all I want to say on
the topic, I understand that you may have some sense of
obligation to him, but it seems like he's always been a user and
that is exactly what he is doing to you...
Take care of yourself...be happy...life is way too short to be
miserable... :)
