Figured this would be a good thread to start since today is the
       start of free agency.

Defenceman Wisniewski inks six-year deal with Blue Jackets
  HTML http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=370560
James Wisniewski has been signed to a six-year 33- million deal
by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Wisniewski's rights had been
traded from the Montreal Canadiens to the Blue Jackets on
Wednesday in exchange for a seventh round draft pick.
$5.5 mill per - that's $250K less than Markov; I like the Wiz,
       but not that much

OK. I'm really puzzled, now. Philly lops off an arm and a leg
(one of them apparently cancerous) so they can sign Bryzgalov.
They gave up Leino. All of this apparently due to cap pressures
       (and the aforementioned cancer).
So how the hell did they manage to miss Vokoun at $1.5MM/yr?
That, mesdames et messieurs, was the deal of the century. I
wouldn't want to be Holmgren if the Caps eliminate the Flyers
       next Spring.

Leino signed for WAY too much money. Sad to see him go, but
glad the Flyers didn't do that deal. I'd MUCH rather have
Vokoun mentoring Bobrovsky than Brysgalov supperssing him.
