Out of all that, the goalie thing is the part I don't like. It
pretty much assures Bob doesn't get his chance, stuck behind a
goalie who hasn't been a great playoff performer in years, who's
also got some issues as a teammate. Bob's got mad skills,
fantastic work ethic (which was actually part of why he wore
down last year), a great attitude, and is only 21. But he may
have to be traded.
Richards - I was ready to get that out of the locker room. Hard
to replace Carter's 40 goals, but I guess tehy just wanted to
hand the team over to Giroux and JVR. And there is cap room for
the rumored Stamkos offer,

I don't see how the Phlyers have the cap space to make a move on
Stamkos (which easily translates into a $8-9MM cap hit, and
staggering draft picks). They only have about $10MM of Cap
space and need to sign 4-5 more forwards.

I wanted Richards' head removed from the locker room. Probably
took so long because they first had to remove it from his nether
regions. He was moody, petulant, sullen. Any wonder why the
team played the same way? Players and coaches all say he was
unapproachable. Great captain material, eh? Carter was
similar. I'm hearing a lot of "good, we can breathe again"
sentiments.
I like them both as players, they just both need captains to
smack them upside the head occasionally.
I'm really liking the prospect of Schenn and Couturier. They
could both become stars.
