       For its part, the task of the Russian left is to stop the
       imperialist aggression that Russia is carrying out. No choice.
       It is impossible for the Russian left to tolerate or in any way
       justify this type of aggression. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian
       and Russian civilians and soldiers have already been killed in
       Ukraine. This is a catastrophe. This invasion is pointless, it
       has worsened the situation for everyone: the Ukrainians, the
       people of Donbas and also the Russian population. It is a
       catastrophe from any perspective you look at it.
       The best that could happen is the immediate end of this war and
       a return, at least, to the status quo that existed before

       It cannot develop at all due to the collapse of imports of all
       kinds of advanced goods and services from the West, and from
       many countries that are not geographically in the West, such as
       Japan and South Korea. Not being able to import these advanced
       goods and services means that Russia cannot advance
       technologically, and that the gap between Russia and the rest of
       the world will widen over time. Russia can't do anything about
       it; the only hope is to weaken or end the sanctions. Of course,
       the consequences of the sanctions for the population are already
       being felt. There is a very strong economic crisis, rising
       inflation and cascading unemployment.
