Hedge Hollow NOTD

NIGHT'S OF THE DEAD
So you want to run the hedge.
The door is located in Necktolos Forest. From the dock head
along the beach to your right. You will find a small wooden
bridge abutting the mountain. Right click on it and choose Hedge
Hollow:

First may I suggest you get the EQ2 Maps attachment. It is a
free download and will make your time in the hollow much more
productive.
That's not to say it can't be run without the maps, I was able
to complete it one time in 2012 without using maps. I took a
picture of the maze with my cell phone and used it to fumble my
way through.
The maze itself is a fairly easy one if you complete each task
before moving on to the next phase.

As you enter the hedge a new quest will pop up on your screen
offering you a selection of goodies for completeing the hedge:

After accepting you progress into the hedge and touch the stump
located directly in front of you. Red slash marks appear on your
screen and behind you is an infected wolf that will have to be
killed. The wolf is your level, wait everything in the hedge is
your level, but they are simple to kill so don't let them
intimiadte you.
The wall on your left is now opened and your first encounter
awaits. it is a hedge lurker:

As you clear the lurker you will go straight for a few paces
and turn to your right at the opening. Here you will encounter a
scarecrow. the one on the left side likes to rush in at this
point so there are often two of the, but they are dead with a
couple of hits.

The monsters sometimes drop candy. Not much of it, but if you
are lucky you will score a few pieces:

You next turn will be to the left, where you will see a rusty
treasure chest upon a porch. You must locate the key in the
graveyard to unlock the chest:

Continue around the corner to your left and into the misty
graveyard where 'risen corpse' await you. One of these Corpse
has the key. Loot the corpse to get the key:

A quick warning: throughout the maze are located shiney's.
These are monsters who will attempt to kill you if you touch
them. They are not really dangerous and do drop a chest from
which you can loot an item for the hedge hollow collection:

Return to the chest and unlock it, inside is a dull machet that
will be used to hack through a hedge:

Turn to your right and hop off the porch. Follow the wall around
keeping to the right. You will come to a wall in front of you
and will hang a left. Head left until your way is blocked by
another wall then head left again. Turn right when your way is
blocked by another wall, then right at the next, two more left
turns and two more right turns should put you next to the wall
you use the machete on. Just click on the wall and it will break
through, inside is usually a hedge that will have to be killed.
After killing it walk through the wall and hang a left. Two
right turns, two left turns, and two more right turns will put
you up against the next house. Hang a right here and run
straight down to the next wall where you will round a corner and
come up onto the houses porch. Right click on the door and
choose 'Treat' to cause the next monster to spawn. This will
open a hidden door later in the maze after you kill it:

After killing the monster head back to where you cut through
the hedge. On the left side will be two openings, pass the first
one and enter the second, then hang a left and continue on. A
right turn, a left turn, a right turn, a left turn, a right
turn, a left turn, a right turn and a final left turn should put
you in the next cemetary with more corpses. These also drop a
key so kill and loot as you will:

Now view the map on your screen or the map provided here: you
should be in the upper right hand corner, you need to head down
to the house heading back toward the beginning and touch the
head on the porch to spawn the next monster. This house will
open another door in the hedge so you can pass:

After killing the monster turn around and head out. When you
clear the hedge way into the house you will want to hang a left
and keep to the right side or the hedge, you should pass through
another hedge in front of you, if you do not walk through a
hedge you gone in the wrong direction. After clearing the hedge
hang a right and another right this should put you on the next
porch. Opening the chest with the key you loot the chest and
drop the coin. There is no way you will be able to hold onto it,
it is part of the quest. Before you open the chest I suggest you
hit your C key, choose options, and make sure the 'hide my
illusion form' is not checked, so you will get to see the full
effect.[IMG]

This is a great place for a screen shot for your personal
gallery also!
Hop off the porch, head back to the wall opposite from the
steps, two right turns, a left turn, two rights, four left
turns, a right, a left and three more rights, a left, a right, a
left, a right, two more lefts and a right will bring you up
against 'Raven' who will upon occasion drop a plushie.

You should now be in the upper left corner, from here head left
and down, from here there is only one way through the maze,
there are no other openings to confuse you with. You should find
yourself on the porch of the 5th and final house fighting with
your food.

Now turn off the porch and keep to the far right wall of the
hedge, swing around the corner and along the side of the house,
on the next left turn take it, you will encounter a video clip
of a gnome running away from a monster. After the clip, turn
around and head behind the house you just left. Kill the monster
and talk to the gnome for a new quest in the maze.

Ok turn back around and head to the wall opposite the gnome, it
is the wall of house #2 hang a hard left turn and follow the
path around until you get to the statue in the center of the
maze. Touching the statue will take you to the center and start
another video clip. You will be facing a X2 Epic, a very weak
one.

After killing the monster turn around and touch the statue
again, this will transport you back to the beginning of the
maze, you may now leave or run through and look for the gnomes
items in a monster free zone, If you have killed all the
monsters.
Turn in the quest to the gnome, touch the statue, touch it
again, and you are out!

I can't wait to see if there is new stuff offered for
completeing the maze... anyone know yet?
