Hangin' Out (April Read)

After all that went down the night before with things said
and ending up being alone. Getting home from a night with
old friends being jumped by his brother and sister in law Joe
was pretty much out of it. Now with it being a new day and
even kinda talking to people and knowing his wife was gonna
bring their daughter around so his brother and family could
have some time to spend with her he stands in the room hes
stayin in getting things ready to take off for the show later.
He gets a message from Jay and grabs his bag with his keys
walking out in the front room and stops seeing April and his
brother looks at him.
Travis: You leavin already?
Joe: I was gonna hit the gym then go to the show. Ill be back
after if you wanna leave a key somewhere or just keep it
unlocked no one knows the back way is fine i can get in.
Travis: Ok no problem back will be unlocked have fun be safe
and dont get hurt to bad.
Joe: Cant get hurt when your already use to every kind of pain
imaginable so ill see ya later.
He looks at April a second not sayin anything to her and
walks out putting the stuff in the car and stands resting his
head on the top of the car a minute before punching it
and shuts the door walking back inside.
Travis: What now forget something?
Joe: Yeah .. Yeah i did forget something.
He takes their daughter and holds her a little bit and
looks at her not payin attention to anyone for a few minutes
and then hands her to his brother and looks back at her before
checking the time.
Joe: You wanted to talk a little bit i have time. We can go in
there and talk while they get to be with her if you want.
Dont worry i aint gonna fight you wanted to talk we'll talk.
He looks at the others and finally walks in the room shutting
the door with her. He sits in the chair in the corner and
stares at the floor not saying anything for a couple minutes
before looking up at her.
Joe: Good to see you girls. I meant what i told you i said i
would love to be here when you got here so i couldnt leave
without sayin anything or talking to you i just tried i cant.
He laughs a little and looks away turning back.
Joe: You know i had all these things in my head to say if i
was here when you showed up but now all of a sudden i have
nothing. I was gonna say alot trust me but now i really have
nothing cause it went away all of a sudden. Im not sure why
maybe cause all of a sudden last night doesnt seem to matter
cause i know if i said what i was gonna it would of made things
alot worse but seein you and her pushed that all away. Im sure
you have plenty to say about it but i cant say one thing about
it because i was in the wrong and yes i just admitted that dont
look at me like that.
He laughs again.
Joe: I had some time to think last night and like you i didnt
really sleep cause all these crazy things were goin in my mind
about what could happen. Not once though did i think of ending
anything. Just alot of things were goin around in there like
never before and it was hard to think straight. Yeah i was drunk
last night unfortunately and i made the wrong choice of going
out with the boys than being with my girls if i can even still
say that. I mean i dont know whats goin on in your head after
last night and with what i said i wouldnt blame you for
whatever you do or wanna do. I really wouldnt blame you for
anything thatw as said or done shouldnt of said what i did
actually and i feel bad for that.
He looks at her.
Joe: You know how i feel i told you earlier as well this
morning i love you and ill say it now cause i do. I can only
say that and hope you believe me or after the show you let
chris watch her and i can make that up to you somehow. My
brother and his wife and kids are gonna be gone tonight im the
only one here after the show so thats up to you. If not its
cool as well but its all up to you not me i owe you for what i
did not what you did but me i admit to making the wrong choice
with the boys and im sorry for that as well. But its up to you
if youw anna stay at chris's fine not that far away. But if
you want i got this place tonight ill be the only one here
stop by.. Why do i feel like when i just said that its the same
thing i said the very first night to you about coming to my
place for the night. Then again we know how that went but its
diffrent now right?
He looks at her and smiles[/center]

She smiles at Joe.
April: I love you too. And No, I really didn't plan out a
speech. I wasn't even sure you would be here. But I am glad you
were and I am even happier you came back in. You want to do
something after the show? Then I will talk to Chris. I know he
will love to have her for the night. I told Jay... I wasn't
going to come running back at the first I love you... and
really... I didn't. But I do love you and never once did I think
to end things. That is a promise, ad you would know if I was.
Yes, things were said and done. Yes things might have not been
handled right. But things settled... and we are talking and look
at us. We aren't fighting.
She walks over to him.
April: I care about you more than you probably know. And I worry
about what happens to you but I never let it come between us. I
can't cause I think you are to damn cute to let go. You are...
when your you... you are protective, kinda, loving and really
care about us. But then Mr Hyde comes out... and my teddy bear
turns into a monster.
She touches his face.
April: Look Joe, I am not looking for perfection. No one is
perfect and even if there was... they wouldn't except me cause
of my own flaws. I love you for you. I love the guy I met that
first night. I love the guy I married. I know we have had more
downs than up. And I don't just mean fights. Hell I got ran off
the road and put in the hospital for God's sake and I am still
here. I was spared to be here for you. I was spared to have that
little girl for us.
She turns and looks away.
April: I told Jay that... our daughter was more important. I
told him... I wasn't that important and what mattered was her.
Making sure she had her dad cause I knew she is going to need
you. I can handle this better than her. I can handle rejections
and being pushed away... but she can't. She won't understand. I
said I was doing this fight for her... not so much me.
She looked back at him.
April: I love you... I only want the best for you. I want you to
be happy. But I want to make sure our daughter is too. If you
both are happy... then I am.

He looks at her and smiles
Joe: No i give you credit it was more like after the third time
i said that this time.
He laughs and looks down a minutes
Joe: Seriously why wouldnt i be happy? I have everything any
guy would want to have in their life. I just know how to screw
things up at times as to where most guys wouldnt even try to
screw things up. I aint perfect im the first to admit that
and you brought that forward but the thing is im actually
not deserving to actually have someone like you and i know
that as does everyone including my family and even yours.
They believe the same thing you deserve better than what i ever
could be or give to be honest.
He looks back at her.
Joe: Listen Desiree is very happy with you you were right
last night does she really even know me? She knows im her dad
thats it im not there much with you and her she knows whos
there all the time with her and she knows dads always gone for
awhile then home maybe two days then gone again what does that
make her think. Im gonna be honest with you i have always had a
side pushed back of this more jerk of a side no one sees much
cause i know what to say especially to women im a typical guy
in that sense of typical. The ups and downs are always gonna
be there no question in my mind its not always gonna be a
easy ride with me or as smooth as one as you want it to be. But
i guarantee nothings gonna take anything away i mean i aint
gonna stop ya if you wanted to leave me i wouldnt stop you
because i understand that all i really do. And at times i
wouldnt blame you if you did because you gotta do what you
gotta do for you and Desiree. If it ever comes to that all i
ask is let me at least have time with her no matter what
thats all i ask cause i love that little girl. Your right
least theres no fighting at least right now and hopefully
things stay cool and calm
He kinda smiles
Joe: I have said this plenty of times before you got
everything any guy could ever ask for and why i got that
chance i dont know because obviously im not that guy you met
ive deffinatly changed from that so called teddy bear type
already and it aint fair on you. More so its not fair on
either one of you girls i know this life aint easy being on
the road shoulda known along time ago but i couldnt help it
something got my attention. Your diffrent and yet when i
become this jerk im real good at being really you get mad yeah
but your always around i dont know i tried to leave a few
minutes ago i really did i wasnt gonna say anything but
something inside said your really gonna just walk away and prove
it doesnt matter anymore? Your gonna do that to your wife and
daughter. Thats why i came back in and thats why im here now. I
cant change what i said or did but i would love to get a
chance to make that up to ya if you will let me. I owe you for
two nights of me being a straight out jerk in fact i owe ya
for alot more than that but i dont know how to so you tell
me what you wanna do when i get back im game for anything.

She then walks over to him and gives him a kiss.
April: I am not going to leave you. I promise that.

He looks at her a second and then to the door before back.
Joe: I hope you dont i really hope it doesnt come to that. I
dont want it to and really i think if it did i would try and
find a way to talk you out of it .
He checks the time real fast and takes her hand sitting
still and looks up at her.
Joe: You know theres a little time before the show. And
before i gotta be there im not doing anything right now they got
her were in here
And since theres a little time its up to you what do you
wanna do til i gotta get there. You know ill get ahold of you
after the show who else would i call late at night?

Joe: No trust me i wouldnt call anyone else .. Well unless
you wanted me to but i doubt thats gonna be cleared to do. So
that leaves only one thats on that list to call late at night
He smiles and looks at her.
Joe: Theres about thirty thirty five if not forty minutes
before i gotta head out. Depends on what you wanna do til i
go. Time can be give or take you know.
He laughs

April: Hmm... not sure. Not much time there. But I think I can
have you leave in a good mood if you want.
She kisses him.
April: Or you can show me around, seeing as we didn't have that
chance yesterday.

Joe: depends on where you want me to show you around at
He smiles
Joe: I could show you around for a little bit now or i could do
that when i get back. I can show you around more when i get
back here and theres time to do that then.
He looks at her and keeps ahold of her hand
Joe: How are you gonna have me leave in a good mood? Just how
do you plan on makeing that happen?
