I was talking to a cashier gal at Family Video here while
back...she told me something that I doubt I'll ever forget. We
were talking about kids...she said she had lain her daughter's
clothes out for school the night before, but when her daughter
came out that morning, she wasn't wearing the clothes her mom
had lain out. She asked her daughter why she was wearing
something different, & the girl replied, "Because the boys won't
look at me if I wear THAT!"
Her daughter is 6 yrs. old.

Yeah, I've been hearing this for awhile....got a card in the
mail a few weeks ago asking everyone in Centralia to
fight/oppose the (possible) closing. I don't know what the
people here would do if ours closed...I swear half the
population is at the P.O. every single day.
Cubetter...I just saw also where Dallas is having its 70th DAY
of 100* temps! Holy ****!

They're closing the processing areas in 2 po's outside of Fort
Dodge. Both towns are about 30 miles away. There are times in
the winter those roads are impassable & yet they're going to
expect somebody to haul mail from those 2 towns to FD & back &
then to Des Moines. They complain about the internet hurting
them. Well this certainly isn't going to help them. I'm so
pissed at the post office right now I could spit.
I'll email you guys the letter the union sent out. The guy they
are sending it to is with the Tea Party, he's from Mesa & he has
the largest reverse mortgage company in the states. It has
gained that status in 2 years time. The union should
investigate him, but they seem to do very little that's
pro-active to save anybody's job.

income mortgages.

Have to tell you what kind of a$$ owns our company. Teresa, who
I used to work with at Good Life, is working at our sister park
Silveridge now. She hadn't met the owner yet. Tuesday he walks
in to Silveridge & there is a sign on the door in one of those
plastic holders, with their hours or something in it. It's been
there forever. He pulls it off the door, takes the paint off
with it & goes to the front desk with it. Teresa is there & he
shoves it in her face & starts screaming at her using the f word
repeatedly wanting to know "what is this". She turns around &
sticks her head in the office mgr's. office & says "there's some
guy shreiking out here. I think he wants you." Then he yells
at Ruth, throws the sign down and stalks off. Teresa thought it
was a resident gone nuts. When he left the building not a word
to either of them. Of course, by this time Ruth has told Teresa
who he is. As he's leaving Teresa says, "Nice to meet you, Al".
She cracks me up.
Can you imagine that behavior from an owner? Especially to an
employee he has not met & in ear shot of any resident who might
have been in the lobby or anywhere for that matter. I'm shocked
Teresa didn't walk out. Joe, our boss, called him & gave him a
lecture but it probably fell on deaf ears. The guy thinks he's
God. He treats Joe the same way & then calls him up to go out
for dinner. I'm thinking he's bipolar. He made my life a
living hell this summer. During the season we didn't have to
deal with him much & I know Joe buffers us a lot.
We all kind of live in fear of having to deal with him. Steve
told me to walk out if he ever pulls that crap with me. I'd
just call Andy & he'd put his ass through the wall. lol I
believe he could be called on the carpet for not intimidation,
but can't think of the right word. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you
can't treat employees like that.

I know there are worse things to complain about at work, like
17's situation, but I will anyway....I like where I work but
crazy enough they are having a pumpkin decorating contest that
they want everyone to participate in. They are providing the
pumpkins and you can carve them or paint them. Afterwards, they
will use them to decorate the building with. This may sound like
fun to some but I am the most uncreative person on earth!! I
have carved pumpkins before and they came out pitiful and I
certainly can't paint. There are 3 judges and 3 prizes with 1st
place getting $75. Can't remember the other two. I bought some
of those cool stencil things yesterday and may practice w/those
before I do the actual one. Even so, I am quite certain that I
will receive the bewby prize!! :-\
