Morning! Any word on the job(s), 17? I have a busy day on tap.
Loaning the use of my washer/dryer to a dear friend in need
this morning. Then we are headed to her church's annual
fundraising rummage sale. Trip to Wally then this evening bank
       meeting/dinner. :)

Morning. I am taking the bookkeeping job. Still haven't heard
from the church. Seems like a good fit, very nice people and
kind of laid back compared to what I've been used to. The 2
gals I put down as references both called me after they talked
to the manager & said "what a sweet man" (which was my first
reaction when I talked to him. Very sweet, VERY professional) &
I'd be a dumbass not to take the job. rofl I'm working at the
park until the 25th, which is Deb's last day for the season,
too. At this point, I don't have to give 2 weeks notice because
we're just prepping for next year. I'm going to have to work my
tail off the next 4 days to get the necessities done, but that
will allow me to have a couple days off before I start the new
job. The only thing is it will leave a lot of stuff to get done
in the fall for whoever comes in. Nothing different than I was
stuck with when I started when you think about it, I guess.
The activity director at the new job & I are good friends, we
serve on the Valley Activity Directors board together & she's
the one who called and said get my tail over there to apply. I
feel kind of guilty leaving, because I really, truly love our
residents. However, the cons out weigh everything else. Just
the hours worked...over 4 weeks of overtime in 6 mos. most of
that in Jan., Feb. & March...is just too much. If it was paid,
if it was even appreciated by corporate it would still be too
       much.
Besides the hours that I don't get paid for, our maintenance
people & housekeepers are unsupervised, because their manager is
sitting at out sister park doing nothing & so the park looks
like crap. I was put in charge of housekeeping like I've got
time to do that, too. Finally got a decent person on board, but
there are supposed to be 2. She can't get it all done herself,
so much has been let go. It's not fair to her. Since I now
have nothing to lose, haha, yesterday I called the maintenance
manager & told him I wanted to see him. I took him around the
complex & showed him the bird nests & all the bird sh*t
everyplace on sidewalks, windows, awnings. I showed him the
weeds growing everywhere. I'm embarrassed by the park's
appearance right now and it's simply because the guys don't work
if they aren't made to & their manager doesn't make them. When
Joe tries to give them work orders he's told to butt out, by his
       "buddy", the owner.
Also, we've got a lady who works in the park post office. It's
just a rumor mill in there. I hear things & I know she does a
little sabotage when it comes to activities. She was our cook
       for a season & she did a horrible job. I told Joe I wasn't
asking her back, so when a job opened up in the PO he put her
there. Actually, worked out much better for her, but I think
she holds a little grudge? I've walked in on conversations a
couple of times. The last time the resident she was talking to
came to me later, very upset at what I'd over heard. She didn't
want me to think she'd started the conversation, which was about
my current cook who does an amazing job. My job is hard enough
without her sitting down there running her mouth about things
that aren't true and are none of her business.
Really need to be a team to survive these snowbirds & we have no
       teamwork what so ever.
So yes I'm taking the job. lol Sure felt good to vent. ;D
