Read the article this noon. I'm not sure what to think. If you
look at his numbers as a player it makes you go "ick". Those
who can't do, I guess. At least Bud Black didn't say "Thank
goodness the worthless human is gone". Makes me feel better
that those interviewed in the SD organization sang his praises.
The thing that gets me in one of the articles I read is that
they hired Sveum to establish the "Cub way". WTF was that?
Having huge losing seasons while he was there. Now Renteria is
supposed to take it to the next level, which would be...just
having not quite so bad losing seasons??? I like that he has
worked with younger players before. Never felt like Sveum had
much use for them & might have even broken some of them
(Castro).

No, Rick Renteria (when he was a useless utility infielder, he
went by Rich, which is how I'll refer to him during his
undistinguished career as a terrible manager).
I disapprove of this hire as I feel he's a puppet of the front
office and that he's unqualified.

Here's an ESPNChicago.com article on the Cubs new "manager"
written by some guy named Jon Greenberg:

Thinking we're all on the same page about this hire.
