       They let the cheating cheater that cheated (Ryan Braun) off on a
       technicality today, so no 50 game suspension like he deserves.
       Also, they've reduced a suspension earned by Manny Ramirez
       (twice convicted cheater) last year for testing positive from
       100 games to 50 games.
       MLB's drug policy is once again the laughing stock of sports.
       Only NASCAR's is worse.

       I was looking through the Scroll (our college's newspaper)
       archives, & found this...  "Cubs fan in Cardinal nation

       With the start of baseball season the entire Metro East is
       busting out their Cardinal gear again. Opening day was magical,
       and all of our hopes are for the pennant this year. However, we
       are not all Cardinal fans. Some of us happen to be Cubs fans,
       the rival of the Cardinals. One of my best friends, Jason, has
       to carry this burden.
       My first question to him was, “Why on Earth would you be a Cubs
       fan?” He happily replied, “Because that is the way I was
       raised.” His family is originally from Chicago. He cheers for
       all of the Illinois teams, which most of us would have to agree
       on, but most of us will never root for the Cubs.
       I then asked him what is it like being a Cubs fan in Cardinal
       nation? He said, “It isn’t really that bad. Yeah, you catch a
       lot of grief but the fans are still somewhat friendly to you.”
       He likes to compare the Cardinal – Cub rivalry with the Red Sox
       – Yankees rivalry. “Their rivalry is down right nasty. At least
       we have a healthy rivalry.”
       Then I asked him how he thought the Cubs would do this year? He
       replied, “Not so good. I do not like what I am seeing right
       now.” The Cubs are currently off to a very bad start by losing
       most of their games.
       My final question to him was do you think the Cubs will ever win
       the Championship Pennant? Right away he said, “Yes! Hopefully
       during my lifetime, but they will eventually win.”
       I believe in healthy competition and really like the rivalry
       that goes on between the Cardinals and Cubs. Hopefully we will
       beat them again and again this year."
       Also...when I was at the college yesterday, their baseball team
       was out on the field...so cool!  They are called the Blue
       Devils, & today they're actually playing against the college I
       went to...Rend Lake.  I just might have to see how this game
       turns out. ;)
