       I am pregnant! Now what?!

If you already have a GP (that is, you are registered in a
centro de salud near you), then all you have to do is make an
appointment with your doctor at your centro de salud and inform
them that you are pregnant. He will then refer you to a hospital
nearby for an ultrasound at around week 12 of your pregnancy.
That is, your doctor will put you into the system and give you a
piece of paper which says that you will receive a phone call in
the next three days to schedule your appointment. There will
also be a phone number on the paper which you can call to
schedule an appointment. If your Spanish is poor, it would be a
good idea to ask somebody with fluent Spanish to help you with
this. (I missed my first ever appointment because I hadn't
understood anything properly over the phone and turned up at the
       wrong hospital.)
If you are pregnant and not already registered with a centro de
salud near you, you can either apply for a European Health Card
