Help!

Two days ago my preschooler came home with a tummy ache and
wanted to go straight to sleep which is very unusual. About an
hour into his nap, he sat up and began vomiting. He probably
managed to do it about 5 times before he was done. It was all
over, including on the dog. I got him cleaned up and then gave
the dog a bath, then stripped the bed and bleached the bathroom.
I used bleach when washing all of the towels and bedding. He
only got sick that time and then no more since. He was able to
eat small things and keep everything down with no problem the
next day. Today he's doing great but I've started having
diarrhea and nausea and I'm just terrified! Do you think I've
caught whatever he had? There was no diarrhea for him, no low
grade fever or body aches. Is this anxiety? I haven't really
been very worried about being ill until I started feeling
nauseated and now with the diarrhea I'm freaking out!

Hi, oh no! Sounds like you did a really good job coping and
cleaning up though so you have definitely minimised your chances
of getting anything, if it was something catchy. Preschoolers
seem to vomit for any number of reasons though, mainly non
contagious. My little boy used to vomit if he had a fever for
example, so with him even a throat virus or something could
cause it.
Obviously I don't know for sure what he had or whether you may
have got it but in all honesty your symptoms now do sound like
they are anxiety related. Try and keep busy so you're not
dwelling on it and eat something light, like toast or crackers,
otherwise you'll start feeling sick from hunger and it'll all
get worse and worse.
I'm about all day now so if you need anything just shout x
