       Mud and Clay: Second Lesson

Ethan had been studying the arts of the dead now for a week.
Learning about the dark arts of necromancy took a toll on the
user’s mind. The morbid photos that Ethan was forced to look at
between the dark arts depiction rituals and the corpses he would
have to endure. Not to mention the putrid stench of the dead was
going to way very heavily on Ethan if he wasn’t able to get used
to it. Because of this he went down to the morgue where he had
scheduled a meeting with a professor to exam a few bodies that
       were recently deceased.
The professor showed Ethan the first cadaver. This one was fresh
with only a bit of greying in the lifeless eyes. It was a woman
in her late 60s who had died due to medical issues that took her
life. She had no family, so she has no reason to extend her life
past her years. The two of them would spend the next thirty
minutes removing her internal organs to prep the body to be
buried. If burned the body would be left alone but this way the
body wouldn’t rot very quickly. The whole thing caused Ethan’s
stomach to turn as he was forced to pull the lady apart.
Things took a turn for the worst with his next cadaver. It was a
young girl about the age of sixteen. She had been wandering the
woods when she had a run in with some wolves. Her chest had been
ripped asunder allowing the animals to feast on her entrails.
The preparation for the body was much quicker but overall much
harder to look at. Though the face was mostly intact as they
went for the soft chest instead of the head.
The last body was the hardest to muster. The body of roughly
five to seven had fallen into a lake. The body was found several
weeks later causing the body’s features to have blooded and
faded. The worst thing about this blob of a creature is that the
boy stank heavily from the state he was currently in. Ethan
refused to hold is nose knowing that this was going to be
something he had to deal with on a constant basis from now on.
Together they opened the boy up to work on the body before the
smell quickly overtook the room causing Ethan to puke and nearly
pass out form the release of fowl smells. Ethan spent the rest
of that evening trying to bath himself as he felt unclean in a
       way that wouldn’t wash away.
