       Trapping 101
By: Darwin Date: January 27, 2019, 9:51 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Darwin would walk in to class or better yet just walk outside to
the courtyard of the college where the professor was holding the
class. It was a a very large courtyard and there was a very
small class size as it wasn't a popular one unlike the others
were magic was taught or how to use other manner of magical
abilities, the class was about 10 people including Darwin . The
professor a man in his early 40's a human male of average build
had a row of tables with many different kinds of traps completed
and others with the necessary nuts and bolts to build one as
well as some sacks of different sizes. He adresses the class
giving a short speech before he beggings the course.
"Hrrm welcome students and hopefuls looking to learn about the
art of trapping, i am your professor for this semester Norman,
just Norman no last names. While the art of trapping might not
be as flashy as those with magical abilities like casting a fire
bolt or animating golems it's a useful skill that might save
       your life one day.'
It seemed like the teacher was grumpy about something relating
to magical abilities by his tone and what he was saying.
"The art of trapping weather to use it for hunting game to eat
or sell, to lay a nasty trap for a pursuing foe or to stalk
someone and re-direct them in the direction you want for an
ambush is a simple art to learn, but hard to master. You need to
be conscious of what you are setting a trap for, where, what the
terrain is, is it wet? is it dry? is there sunlight in the area
or shade? is it along a traveled path? is there anything to
cover so your trap isn't so obvious, so on and so on. Laying a
trap is all about subtlety, timing and patience, reading the
movements of what you are attempting to trap and trying to
outsmart them. Lead them exactly where you want if possible.
Well enough of that you will learn in this class how to properly
build a trap, what it's made with, what the best traps are for
the terrain and situation and how NOT to fall victim to your own
trap. The last semester some geniuses for their foot amputated
stepping in to their own bear trap, two others suffered third
degree burns from a fire trap by setting it up inside a barn
trying to trap a rat, A RAT! stupid kids, hrmm if you listen to
me carefully and follow my instructions you have nothing to
worry about, and you just might keep all your fingers and limbs
intact if you make it to the end of the course."
Darwin seemed shock by the grisly tales the teacher was telling
the class about those accidents using traps from the last
semester as he looked as the traps set infront of him and
gulped. He then thought back to what the teacher said at the
begenning about how a well laid trap could save their lives and
he calmed down a bit, even though he was immortal he could still
die from trauma to his body.
"Alright let's start the class, before you are a numbered of
diferent traps raging from a simple mouse trap to more advance
traps like fire traps, shrapnel traps you name it. I'm going to
teach you about all the individual parts that make these traps
and how to disarm them, then each of you are going to construct
a bear trap using the tools and materials provided here under my
       supervision."
The class would go on as Darwin payed close attention to the
       teacher and his instructions.
