Ethan Liam walked into the small classroom he had been allotted.
Unlike normal classes at the Academy this was an independent
study class picked by Ethan to hone his skills. His grimoire was
going to be the key to learning any magics about necromancy, but
this wasn’t a new subject on its own. Decades necromancers have
been created across the lands in search for powers to recall the
dead. Elsend academy’s knowledge on the bases of Necromancy had
been lacking but at the same time it did have ideas even if they
were just hinting and whispers hidden away within tall tales
about liches and summoners of the dead arts.
Hours few by as Ethan studied tome after tome of other exploits
and legends. These legends hinted at the ability to summon the
dead in a ghoulish state. Feral being that were hard to control
and would go rabid if lest alone. Some even called forth zombie
apocalypses upon former nations trying to gain immortality for
their loved ones. If these books told Ethan anything it was that
Necromancy was a dangerous art and should be treated with
respect and due diligence. Rushing into a plan and half assing
your way to a solution could result in extreme consequences to
the caster. Small things like curses, never finding death even
though one is in a death like state or summoning something they
just couldn’t control.
Ethan ran into a chapter about a great necromancer who was able
to reanimate parts of the dead. These reanimations were things
like hand, limbs, and even just a heart that could beat to allow
for body mutation. Doing these forbidden arts, he was referred
to as the butcher and would even combined flesh of people
together to create abominations in living beings. Though his
purpose was to prolong life and to restore his loved ones to a
state of completeness. People often found these people as
monsters as the rotting flesh continued even after being
reanimated by the necromancer. Often victims of his help would
beg for death rather than living in the accursed state. It was
at this point that he stopped helping the living and
reconstructing an army of the living dead. Botched plans for the
living he lived among a fully zombie beings called Flesh Golems.
It was at this that Ethan drove his inspiration for his next
spell. He was going to spend this class time learning how to
reanimate a living Flesh Golem.
