EVASION! - You will be missed

I think it has been brought to everyone's attention that evasion
is now OPTIONAL in games. I think it's a good idea to change
evasion with another ability and the purpose of this thread is
to get ideas going for the replacement!
Let's be honest, lot's of people will be sad to see evasion go.
They will say ignorant things like "it counters bc, and
pending!" and to that I say it does NOT. Windwalk and Farsight
counter penders much more at level 1 because they create an
opportunity for the pender to be killed (ninja'd, if you will).
People who get evasion first I usually think have
downsyndrome... do you really value 10% for a chance to kill
over the chance a farsight or windwalk brings? CAMMAN...
Another point to be made is evasion usually favors the penders.
Penders typically have a higher level, and in not serious games
you will see people going this build (sometimes swapping fs1
with eva1... regardless):
lvl 1- ww
lvl 2 - fs/eva
lvl 3- ww
lvl 4- eva
lvl 5 - ww
anything above that they pump into evasion... making the
HIGH-level pender much harder to kill.
Also... evasion is just a plain luck skill. There is no talent,
and really no purpose it holds in the map. It just makes lvl 2+
people harder to kill in the vast majority of games. Getting
evasion 1 is something I might suggest for a pub to do all game
if they just opened warcraft 3 and have NO clue how to play.
Aside from them it's always windwalk/farsight first.
*On a side-note... pending is still way imba. I honestly think
each pendant should cost 1 more gold so it prevents 2-0 kids
from getting pend, and I've even considered the possibility of
mana potion costing 3 gold. That would definitely make an impact
on pending.
Alright now onto what it could be swapped with I'm just going to
name off some ideas I have heard the stats given are by no means
the final revision... just an estimate:
Brilliance Aura: .6, .9, 1.2, 1.5 mana regen in aoe
Ground Shot: (drew/tom give details)
Tactical Scope: +20/40/60 range
Stasis Trap: 1/2/3 sec stun
Nightvision: Gives scope-like vision for nighttime. 1 level
Jump: Jumps up a cliff. 1 level?

I completely agree that evasion does not need to be a part of
this game and that it takes no skill. So, as we've said, we
should replace it with a SKILL. I am in favor of a groundshot
ABILITY that costs 100 mana and is only one level. The range
would be a bit more than regular 800, and your sniper should
have a cast time of about 1 second. The animation should be
invisible and extremely fast after the shot.
You make some good suggestions, but let's think about this. If
we want to add a skill to replace the passive evasion, then I
don't think putting in another passive really makes sense. I
would prefer that we put in a usable skill. Brilliance aura
would probably not be chosen until much higher levels, and it's
obsolete for a pender, I think. Adding range to a sniper would
make him virtually unkillable. Stasis trap I am OK with but we
would have to put a lot of thought into how that would work...
Perhaps that is best left as a purchasable item. Also, no one
smart would get the nighttime ability unless it gave more range
than scope. That leaves jump. I really like the idea of putting
this as an ability, and am completely in favor.

Sup. Well its optional,ok. But i wouldn't go that far at
completly change it with an other spell. Cause there are people
who like to play with evasion even its lucky or not. Million of
people playing poker too and its a luck game. Just let it
optional but don't remove it completly is my opinion.

I vote for brilliance aura, with a significant amount of regen
only available at higher levels. Jump... no way. Completely
changes things, noob campers can be dealt with easily enough,
the only real problem is when a whole team camps on a hill, but
then ur not gonna get fair with jumping up there anyway are you?
Groundshot, too fast and it becomes ridiculous, too slow and its
useless. Statis Trap... this seems like this would become old
VERY quickly, imagine statis traps everywhere? this isnt ninja
infiltration. Nightvision could actually i think be useful for
those times when u dont have enough for scope, but I think this
could change early game a lot.
So in order, I'd vote for brilliance aura and then nightvision,
and then completely discourage statis trap, ground shot and
definetly jump. Not even as an item, keep that shit out. I can
rant about if u want, xD.

I am a fan of evasion.. as I was a avid evacider in the later
years. If the ability is going to be replace than I feel that it
can only replaced by another passive ability.

it was replaced by mana feed, you gain a % of the killed players
mana everytime you kill them.
