Read the whole thing. Great diction Tom, never knew you were a
well-spoken guy. I can spot out I belong in the second
generation of snipers. I played with Anima. Never knew which
part of "history" i belonged in, but this is a great summation
of a great game as we all know it, Snipers. P.S. I also read
the thread on Cele's accusation of you mhing. Now that is solid,
evidential proof of you admitting to map hacking back when you
used to play DoTa and also the era of snipers, "where everyone
mhed." That is no real excuse. But i believe you don't map hack
anymore and you continue to thrive and keep the game alive, and
for that, you earned my respect. I believe there should be no
hatred zone between RG and 3xS really. Since these are the only
two snipers clans left. I'm in both RG and 3xS because both are
snipers clans and both are promoting snipers. That's what it
really comes down to. Fellow sniper should not dispute with
their fellow snipers.. That simply doesn't make any sense.
Regardless, I will continue to be very observant of mhers. And
unless we get true, substantial evidence such as replays, no one
should be alleged a mher. "Innocent till proven guilty" right?
This is the only video game I play, and I truly love it. That's
why I took my time out to post this comment. :)

Thanks Bungie. I completely agree, and am trying to bridge the
gap that has formed over the years between East and Europe. I
don't know if we'll ever change the other's mindsets completely
about the other, but it's worth a shot.
About me hacking back when I did: I mean no disrespect when I
say this, but I have never answered to anyone, so to call it an
"excuse" is not the best word choice. I do not answer to anyone
now either, but there is a huge difference between hacking in
today's Snipers and back when I did. It is certainly inherently
wrong to cheat, but we were all just kids trying to be the best
without fear of consequences. Now that I'm older I see the value
of this game and I want it to not only stay alive, but thrive.
So any help you or anyone else can give me in recruiting,
teaching and mentoring young players would be a huge help. I
believe that is how this game will continue to grow, and the
level of competitiveness will continue to rise.
Again, thanks Bungie.

a well written report to a well respected individual. Throughout
my years of snipers there are few who I respect genuinely. I
played mostly to annoy greats such as
anima,akino,drewisfat,celestial,rekot and hundreds more that
pains me to forget them, with my supernatural ability to find
and eliminate elite tier snipers. I was truly the "anti-bcer"
sharing that title with Tweed(another great). Though that title
passed on to those I taught and surpassed us both but that said,
the categories placed here were professionally done, unbiased
and emphasized in exact and great detail. Even if it was a
little harsh to the third gen. Mybrodro my first and greatest
apprentice of the game was far from arrogant or wanting to be a
legend. Many like him were humble and decent people who I was
glad to play with and teach throughout my years on wc3. All who
never resorted to such things like mhing.
It was truly a pleasure reading this as it brought back many
good memories of the friendships/rivals and even enemies that I
had made.
It is good to see that the game we all crave for and love is
still alive and kicking.
Thank you for gracing us with this priceless art Tom
your friend

Much appreciated, Pablo, and welcome back! It's a shame more
oldies don't play, but we work with what we have. Plague has
done a great job of taking the reigns and keeping Snipers alive
in my inactivity. I will do my best to be online a LOT more
starting tomorrow morning. I hope to see you around old friend.
And who knows, if we stick around long enough, we might just get
back most of the people we've lost.

Wow, having a lot of nostalgia right now. Sometimes I go through
google and look for old forums and try to find friends that seem
forever lost.
I am glad I came across this Tom. It has been a very long time
since I have talked to you, SeC, Bungie, or Pabs. I am an oldie
and many considered me one of the best and non-hackers. (Also
hardly ever pend/bc)
Having been there for most of the game, it really feels like a
lot of history is missing. You have the generations down but so
much happened and so many great players came and went its truly
indescribable how competitive the game was. The friendships made
on this game were extremely close, considering that we know each
other by name and talk randomly on forums after several years.
:D
Very inspiring post. I might have to start playing snipers a
little more often now. I want to give a shout out to Anima,
Bronz, Squall, Akino, Sec, Baal, Joleen, and so many others who
made that 20 minute game last a lifetime of good memories.
And Pabs. I remember when you were new and Mighties. taught you
to play. Was awesome to see man.

Welcome back, Matt. You're right, a lot is missing. This history
is just the general history of the game of Snipers itself,
meaning it lacks great detail. In a day or 2 I will have posted
the more recent European history which will include much more
detail. To remember and successfully describe all the
experiences we went through over the years would take a lot more
time and paper than I have available, if you catch my drift. I
believe most of that history should and will remain in our
minds. My goal is to record the players and the history from
THIS point forward, so that we can remember every detail in full
accuracy. Thanks for the comment.

While you guys were busy sniping on Europe, we had a Snipers
Remix scene on TFT Europe too. Obviously not as big.
I recorded Remix clans I knew of from 2004 to 2007 apart from
Sand.
SNIP - Lollig[Snip] 2003-2004 (They actually started with Elite.
When I came to scene, they started playing Remix)
ESA - Santa-Bla 2003 (My old clan. lasted only a few months
because patch 1.13 was too big and i was on dial up -.- so I
couldn't log on)
BES - Berserk_Troll 2004 (I was shaman in this one)
DROW - Acrotas[Drow] 2004
COS - Dragun[CoS] 2004
PHAM - DarkSpirit[Pham 2004-2006
SLOS - PHAM derivative 2005
USL - NinjaSniper02 2006
From 2007 onwards, there were a few Elimination Tournament clans
but I haven't recorded them so I have no idea.
From 2008 onwards, it was all Warlock, again I don't have much
knowledge of that era.
Also a pic of gnome Sand I got from 2007. Not to brag or
anything. It really was an invite everyone clan who's interested
in Remix and ET and we would do naughty stuff to other clans
with that number of active players, like random spamming.
