these past few weeks.
It's amusing how you trash talk me behind my back, disregard my
warnings and advice, and then you wonder why the game is the way
it is. The irony is that I kept Snipers alive single-handedly
for years, but instead of asking for my help, you accuse me of
hacking, yet again with no evidence, despite the fact that I
don't even play anymore. Even after I knew you guys were trying
to troll me I posted an announcement on this forum and left it
up, which sent an email out to everyone who had registered here
in order to help you.
If you had seriously been interested in keeping Snipers alive,
you would have recruited new players and actually taken an
interest in them instead of just trying to make your clan look
bigger. If you really cared about a broader interest, you would
have coordinated times to play with Europe in order to maximize
activity. Instead, you and SiX talked trash about Euros and
claimed SNG is just a bunch of hackers.
I expected better from you, Warchest. I expected a mature leader
to make a genuine effort to try and promote the game. Success or
failure wouldn't have mattered; I would've respected either.
Instead, all I saw was someone who wanted to be just like Akino,
for whatever reason. Maybe you thought it might be fun to bully
younger kids playing on WC3, like he does. Maybe you thought it
would be nice to feel "in charge" for a change. Whatever your
reason was, I hold you at fault, as well as those players who
blindly accept Akino's leadership, including every older player.
Anyone who has any experience dealing with Akino should realize
that the game and its players would be better off without him.
He has continuously been a destructive force, harming an already
near-death community, so I expected as much from him. But for
you to stoop to his level was extremely disappointing, to say
the least.
If you want to know why the game is the way it is, look no
further than the childish mentality of people such as Akino. But
the bigger failure rests with those who passively allow such a
person to destroy the entertainment of those who do not worship
or at least support such behavior.
From my experience playing Snipers, I would've never in my
wildest dreams assumed there would be a time when Europe was a
more mature, stable server than East/West. And yet, it has been
for quite some time now. Most of the new players are and have
been Euros, yet the older East players refuse to switch servers.
My point in writing all this is to say, don't kid yourself.
Aidan is 12 years old, yet he is more mature than many East
players have been these past few years.
Perhaps Snipers will never be the same. In fact, it is extremely
likely to remain dead permanently. However, I've heard recently
that the game DotA 2 is experimenting with implementing custom
game maps. Since the units, terrain, items, and abilities are
all very similar to WC3, it would be fairly easy to replicate
Snipers on DotA 2. The playerbase there would likely be
comprised of players who have experience playing Snipers, and it
is large enough to sustain a fairly large Snipers community,
with some work. If DotA 2 ever becomes viable, I will (or
perhaps Plague will) create a map and plant a Snipers community
there. If that becomes the case, I assure you that people like
Akino will certainly not be welcome, nor tolerated.

Come back to Starcraft :) where all the fun began! We have
ACTUAL Tournaments Sniper leagues and just daily fun matches.
If we could combine you guys and our guys we could rebuild this
community into something much greater.
I am eager to get started!
