       Yahaya Bello’s “Exonerate” For Uncleared Kogi Workers Is An

       The celebrated pardon
       allegedly granted to some
       uncleared workers in Kogi
       State civil service for various
       infractions and omissions is an
       implicit admission that the nearly fifteen months
       screening exercise was a
       fiasco, a wild goose chase and
       a demonstration of lack of
       direction and purposeful
       leadership in Kogi state. Yahaya Bello is not
       magnanimous! Yahaya Bello is
       tactless by agreeing to be
       coerced into the screening in
       the first place only to turn
       around when a safe landing without goring no less than 35
       thousand genuine workers
       became impossible. Do you know why Yahaya
       Bello failed? I will tell you. One of the eleven seemingly
       terrible infractions and
       omissions allegedly forgiven
       affects all the workers said to
       be affected. Therefore, if you
       were not screened out by infraction number one, you
       will be hard hit by infraction
       numbers 5 and eleven and vice
       versa. To be successful at wiping off
       the trauma and blemish
       tainting the image and
       integrity of the New Direction
       government, the government
       should not only pay arrears of the fifteen months owed to
       the workers allegedly
       “forgiven”, he should also
       account for where the money
       meant for the affected
       workers have been diverted to since the treasury of Kogi is
       empty.
