Fresh off the press... Town of Sweden Supervisor & Tax Assessor
try to quell civil unrest due to Property Reassessment.

It's a FULL PAGE devoted to the Town of Sweden's decision to
forge ahead with Property Reassessments in a time when Town &
Village residents are confined indoors.

If you go and read this you will see where the Town Tax Assessor
states that Town's don't raise taxes, just assessments. But as
most know the Town Government & Village Governments BOTH use
these factors (Rated Home Value per $1000) as the multiplier
applied when the local government budgets are created. Raise the
Rate, and most likely you RAISE taxes, even if the budget
increase is held to zero dollars, which rarely happens. The Tax
Assessor also states that if VILLAGE TAXES go up it's not her
fault, it's all about the Village Budget getting still
larger...again in 2020
Folks, Brockport VILLAGE GOVERNMENT just raised village taxpayer
burden by $161,000 and PASSED a Village Budget of $6.1 Million
Dollars... $16,712 per DAY about a week ago

TOWN OF SWEDEN & VILLAGE of BROCKPORT TAXPAYERS DESERVE ANSWERS:
When is enough, enough? When will people start to figure out
that it's time to eliminate wasteful local government practices?
When will Village Taxpayers realize that they are being duped by
one government to think the other one in the same town will be
worse for them?
When will Town Taxpayers realize that if they work to ELIMINATE
the Village Government in their Town, their Town would then
become eligible for Government Reorganization Funding, which
will ultimately work to LOWER overall Town taxes?
Isn't it time that the Town of Sweden starts talking MORE about
how to combine TWO local governments into a single governing
body that serves ALL of the Town Residents EQUALLY?
Isn't time that the Town of Sweden Officials started working on
reorganizing it's local governments to reduce the issue with
excessive taxation instead of taking the easy path of raising
property assessments & taxes continuously to support what has
become a Town divided by two different governing boards?
Isn't it time to STOP putting all of the burden on Town &
Village residents to fix a problem that Town Supervisor Kevin
Johnson & Brockport Village Mayor Margay Blackman should be
working on themselves?
Isn't it time for Village and Town TAXPAYERS to say ENOUGH!
