       A "slice of heaven" in Fairport, Thanks to Mike
       Caswell

       Where is this 'slice of heaven" in Fairport?
       It's the Oxbow Trail Loop if you go to All Trails..

       And if you go to New York's Park N Trails website it's shown in
       their Adopt a Trail Program Map

       This little gem of a walk, half trail - half park, has been
       written up in the Canalway Trail Times as well.

       For most locals is simply known as "The Bow" and if you haven't
       been there, you don't know what your missing out on.
       It's about a third of a mile long in from end to end, but is
       next to one of the most scenic spots along the Erie Canal that
       you will ever see. And...as a bonus.. you also get to see a
       small abandoned section of the original Erie Canal from 1817.
       Thanks to the efforts of a local resident the trail has been
       given new life... take a look.

       So if you ever go out for a walk along the canal here, or if you
       ever take a moment to get the dogs out for a nice walk along the
       Oxbow Trail

       And you just happen to see the guy in the picture below out on
       your walk, be sure to thank him for not just talking about how
       to help the environment around the Erie Canal prosper, but for
       actually doing something proactive about it like Mike Caswell
       and his band of Adopt-a-Trail volunteers did.

       Mike pays out of pocket for the mowing along the trail to manage
